“Dad?! DAD?!” I yell out into the abyss, but I am met with silence. Complete, utter silence. For f*ck sake, not even my dreams go the way I want them to.
“Val?” I hear another voice, but it’s Tommy’s this time. He sounds so broken. Oh goddess, did he die as well?! Please tell me he didn’t.
“Val, baby? Please come back to me” I hear him whisper softly. Only this time, I realize, I actually feel things.
F*ck, I feel a little too much.
My body feels like I tried to hug a moving train. ‘Or like a building collapsed on top of us’ Vixen grumbles moodily. Despite my agony, I almost jump for joy at hearing her voice. ‘VIX!!’.
