Valentina is just staring at the King with a bored expression on her face, motioning her hand for him to continue.
“You see, my son Dylan has grown quite fond of you, apparently". I notice Dylan stiffening upon his father's mention of him, and I wonder what he has in store further. "So much so, that he was willing to risk his title to come to you and your men's aid when escaping captivity. But, water under the bridge” he smiles wickedly, before continuing again. “But, you see, Dylan hasn’t found his fated mate yet, so he needs a strong queen by his side. Which brings me to you”.
Valentina’s mouth parts and her brows furrow, as do mine, and all of ours I can imagine.
Is he really insinuating what I think he is? Right after she basically tore him a new one, no less?
