I woke up earlier than Dylan and tiptoed around the house to get some basic makeup and some breakfast. I didn't get enough sleep but that’s just how life goes sometimes. With that treasure sitting in my garage, things looked good for once and I could rest most of my worries. Now all I needed was to sell it, which was something I’d never done before. How does one sell a car? I had only bought mine a long time ago, after Dylan’s father was gone…
“And what are you going to do about your car?” Sarah asked.
“Oh, it will be fine. I think I can get a good price on it, even if it’s not working and I'll trade it in for another one just like it. Maybe even a few years younger!”
“Really? Wow, Courtney, either you’re a genius when dealing cars or you have a really good attitude towards life.”
“I guess I’m feeling optimistic. Seems car’s prices are going down these days.”
“Hummm… ok.” Sarah knew even less about cars then I did.
“So, this is where you work?” Detective Nicholas Valentine was waiting for me.
