Chapter 5

The weekend had arrived, and Deanna was looking forward to meeting up with her brothers and meeting her sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. They all made plans to meet up in Flushing Meadow Park, where they could cook out and enjoy time with each other.

The kids were also excited to get to know their mother’s family and to meet their aunts’, uncles’ and cousins. They wanted to ask their mom to invite their dad but didn’t want to make her upset, so they decided not to bring it up.

They all arrived at the park at 10 a.m. and when Deanna saw her eldest brother Isaac, she started tearing up. It had been so long since she was surrounded by her siblings she missed them so much. Isaac and Izayah ran to their little sister and embraced her tightly; they stood there for at least 10 minutes just holding each other. Finally, Deanna pulled away so she could meet her sister in laws, nieces and nephews. She introduced the kids to her brothers “Taneek, Tameek, Taniyah, this is your uncle Isaac and your uncle Izayah,” In unison the triplets said “hi”.

Isaac and Izayah then introduced their families and after all the introductions and greetings everyone begin to enjoy themselves, the kids played games, while the adults talked and caught up on each other's lives, about 3 hours had passed when Deanna heard the triplets said “daddy, your here”? Isaac immediately got up and ran over to Jeron screaming “man what the f**k are you doing here? Haven’t you hurt my sister enough in this lifetime? Just leave before you hurt my niece and nephews.”

Deanna knew at this point she had to step in and stop her brothers from tearing Jeron apart, they would definitely hurt him bad for old and new. So she got up and walked over to Isaac and put her hand on his shoulder, saying “brother it’s ok, I told him it was ok to come and spend time with the kids, it is time for them to get to know their father.”

Isaac looked at his sister and said “Anna are you sure about this? All the pain he has caused, does he really deserve to know them”?

"No, he doesn’t deserve to know them, I’m trying to be the bigger person and let my children decide if they want to know him, and they do. Big brother, they deserve to know the other part of them if they choose. I made the decision to not tell him about them, not the kids. Now that he has found out about them, and they him I must allow them their wish. After all he is their father, whether I like it or not. He may have f****d up his chance with me, but not with them. Would you want to be kept away from Bryce and Blaze? Think about it, I took his choice away instead of being the bigger person and letting him know they exist. He hurt me, not them, I refuse to let my children continue to suffer because he is an ass. Now, if they ever decide they don’t want to be involved with him, then its up to them to cut ties, right now, they want to know their father.”

Isaac didn’t like the fact that his sister was right but he knew it was the right thing to do If it were his children he would definitely want to take responsibility for them in every way, so he walked back to his wife and kids and left Anna to handle the situation.

As awkward as the situation was, Anna let the kids go to their father, she went and sat with her brothers, watching from the sidelines. She didn’t want to interfere with their bonding time so she just sat to the side, watching Jeron interact with them. Watching them react to him, she was amazed that her kids were alot like their father and she didn’t know exactly how to process that.

Two hours had gone by, Deanna was enjoying the time she was spending with her brother and their families. She liked both of her sister-in-laws and hoped to get to know them better. The three of them talked about going shopping together so they could spend time getting to know esch other, just the girls. Deanna was liking the idea.

Finally, she was getting tired and was about to get up an, d find her ex-husband and kids when up popped the devil herself. She couldn’t believe they had the nerve to show up here as if they were still family, Jasmine and Jacob were standing there like they were looking for someone and when she looked up, they smiled and waved at her. She turned to see if her brothers were looking and they were, they all looked at each other like “what the f**k”. Deanna chose to turn her head and begin to walk off when Jasmine shouted, “sister so good to see you, I have been trying to reach out to you, why haven’t you returned my calls and why did you change your number?” Deanna stopped abruptly and looked at her estranged sister and said, “I’m sorry miss do I know you”?

“Anna don’t act like that I’m your baby sister and I love you.”

Deanna tried to walk away when Jacob grabbed her to give her a hug and said “Big sis I missed you, why don’t you ever call?”

Deanna didn’t know how to react to these two, so she looked at her brothers and said “big brothers who are these people? How do they know my name? Whats going on here?”

The triplets then ran up to their mother laughing, Taniah said “mommy daddy is being silly can you come get him.”

Jasmine looked shocked and said “Anna is this my niece? Oh my god she is so beautiful.”

Then she turned around and saw Taneek and Jameek standing there looking at their mother and she was in shock and said, “sister you had triplets; oh my god does your husband know that you had children by another man?”

At that moment Jeron stepped up with his mouth open, he hadn’t seen Jasmine since the night they got caught sleeping together, he only caught the last part of her sentence. He didn’t know if he should reply, so he decided to step back and let Anna handle this, he didn’t want to get in the middle.
