Chapter 4

The kids agreed to getting to know their father and decided that they would not judge him until they got to know him. They could see that he hurt their mother, they just didn’t know what happened between them, or why their mother no longer had love in her heart for him, it had to be bad because they knew that you had to get their mother to a bad point for her to cut ties with you.

Jeron turned to Deanna and said “baby please give me another chance, let me make it up to you and the kids, let me be your husband again and a father to them. I promise you I won't let you down ever again baby, just one more chance.”

Deanna shook her head at him and said, "Jeron what you did to me is unforgivable, I gave you my heart and you chose to tear it to pieces, we are done forever, there is no going back. As for the kids you can be a father to them, and we can work an agreement out for you to get to know them and that is as far as this will go.”

Although Jeron was hurt by what Deanna said he knew he would not give up, he would get his family back, he would get Anna to fall back in love with him.

Deanna looked at Jeron and asked him again “so Jeron why are you here? You still haven't answered that question.”

“Well since we have a lot of personal issues to discuss we will have to set up some private time to talk, just you and me. As for today I am your client, you will be renovating some buildings for me remember, so show me what you’ve got.”

Deanna was stunned but she kept her composure and put on her professional face, and they got down to the business at hand. She showed Jeron what she would be doing to his buildings and got his ideas on what he wanted done, they got a lot of work done that day. Deanna was excited about the work she would be doing to Jeron’s buildings and was looking forward to getting started.

Deanna decided after the meeting that she was ready to head home, she had brought a four-bedroom home in Jamaica Estates for her time here, it would be one of her personal properties, her kids each had their own room and that was the way they liked it. Though they were close they all preferred their privacy, that way they had time to themselves when it was needed. She also was able to sign them up to a good private school so they wouldn’t miss out on their education.

As Deanna and the kids were being driven home, she received a phone call from her eldest brother Isaac asking about how her and the kids were doing, she hadn’t let them know she had temporarily returned to NY, so she informed him then that they were in town. She got scolded on how she didn’t inform him of her plans and told her he wanted to see her and the children. Though he had never met his niece and nephews in person, he had spoken to them many times on face time, he was excited to meet them. He also wanted them all to get together so that his sister could meet his wife and kids as well. Before they ended the call, they got on three way with their brother Izayah and made plans for a little get together, they decided to meet up on Saturday. Deanna ended her call with her brothers and had a reunion plan for the three of them to meet their families, little did Deanna know that things were going to take a small turn in a direction unexpected.

The kids were exhausted from the day's events, meeting their father was the best thing they thought, because they always wondered who they looked most like, especially the boys because although their mother was beautiful, they didn’t look a lot like her. They wondered what it would be like to get to know their father, they didn't have much family in Canada it was just them, mom and auntie Monica, they knew that their mother didn’t get along with her biological family, only their uncles, they had never met their grandparents either and they did want to meet them, it was just a sore subject for their mom, so they never brought it up. Once they got to their new home they explored for a little bit, chose their rooms and took baths to get ready for bed.

8pm that night Deanna received a call from her kid's father wanting to set up a day to meet up with the kids, he wanted to know his kids and introduce them to his family. He had been a father for 9 years and didn’t know them, he wanted to know their likes and dislikes, hobbies, quirks and all that good stuff, he wanted to be active in their lives, he wanted to be a family again.
