Chapter 10: The Shift

Jaydens Pov

My dad swore me and Lilly to not tell anyone about us. I did ask if he cared about us dating. He said that was fine but we couldnt mate until Lilly was 18 or she wouldnt be able to be our Luna. Something about rules and being of age. I didnt care as long as I got to spend time with her. I took her out on a dinner date but we had to go a few hours out so no one from the town would recognize her. "So .. Umm..whats your favorite color" I ask then my wolf lets out a sigh. 'Lame' he says to me but I push him back. "I would have to say..." Lilly says before giggling a little. "Purple and blue. I cant decide on one. What about you?" She asks looking into my eyes before blushing. Her blush was so cute and it made me want to kiss her. "Well..i think that red or black would be my favorite or maybe green. I cant say I have thought about it before" I say and she giggles again. We order and try to have a rather akward conversation. It was weird talking to my mate but knowing I had two more years before anyone beside us knew it.

Lillys POV

After dinner we rode back to Emmas house. It had been decided that I would bunk with Emma until we turned 18 then we could move into the pack house if we wanted. As well pulled up to her house I felt Jayden touch my hand. I turn to see he is only a few inches from me. 'Kiss him' Aroura says and I lean in touching our lips softly together. As we touch I jump back as I feel a spark. Jayden had jumped too and is now laughing. "What was that about?" I ask and he smiles. "Ive heard that mates get an electric spark when they touch. I heard you dont feel it too much after you get use to it" he said giving me a kiss on the cheek. I blush and Aroura howls in my head making my cheeks heat up even more. "That blush is really cute" Jayden says and I smile. "So next week same time?" I say with a chuckle. Jayden nods before getting out to open my door. "Thank you" I say as Emma appears out of thin air. "Hello" she says making me squeal and jump. Both Jayden and Emma start laughing. "And you call yourself a wolf" Emma says jokingly. "Maybe" I say before biting my tounge. I couldnt wait until I could tell her about my witch side. I just hoped that none of the Witches knew where I was for Emmas safety.

Harmonys POV

It was coming up on the full moon. Ginger had instructed us to find Lilly before she could shift. Something about a proficy. "The first hybrid to come shall unite and destroy. They will call upon favor for the dominate and kill the weak. " Ginger said before looking at me. "You have to kill her before she can shift or she will destroy us" she told me again. I wanted to believe Ginger but I didnt want to kill my family. My aunt was already sent away for questioning Gingers motives.

Emmas POV

When Lilly jumped at my voice i teased her. I had grown up knowing about my wolf side and it had its perks. I was more in tune with things and didn't startle as easy. I could see the way that my cousin looked Lilly that he had a pull. I had seen it several times with other pack members. I just hoped that if Lilly was his mate that he wouldnt scare her away before they found out. Lilly seemed to enjoy his company so I wasnt too worried about it yet. "Lilly come on mom bought ice scream" I say and Lilly runs to the house. "I see that look. You hurt her I will hurt you" I tell Jayden who puts his hands up. "Trust me I dont want to harm her. I feel the pull to her and I want to keep her safe. Even if she isnt my mate" he says and I nod.

Once im inside I see that Lilly already had the bowls down and was scooping the ice scream. "Did you want one or two scoops" she asks and I give her a blank stare. "Do I look sick? Give me three" I say before laughing causing her to laugh too. Tomorrow was a full moon and i was hoping to train some. I wasnt going to shift until i was 18 but my wolf was stronger on full moons.

Lillys POV

Jaydens dad, Alpha Steven, agreed to meet us for "training". He asked for me specially because I had explained about my wolf saying I had to shift at the next full moon. Jayden hung out with us all day. He kept checking on us without seeming too persistent.

"Emma do you know about the late pull?" I ask her wanting to learn a little more from a friend. "A little I know that some times people can feel the pull when they hit sixteen but they dont reallt know until they are eighteen and able to shift. Why?" She says looking at me with a smile. "Well I feel this pull towards Jayden and i just want to hang out with him all the time." I say and Aroura laughs in my head. 'oh I want to hang out with him. Well I want to mate with him' Aroura chimed in and I blush. Emma chuckles and smiles. "Maybe you two are mates. I hope I find my mate. I hear that once you have that pull your stronger then ever. Maybe not physically but mentally you know you have one person on your side always no matter what" Emma says and I smile. "That sounds amazing" I say as Jayden walks in. Emma giggles and i give her a look. "What were you two talking about me or something" he asks and Emma giggles more making me blush a little. "Maybe" she said in a sing song tone. Jayden rolls his eyes and then looks at me. "My dad says it's time to go for your training. " he says and I smile. "Here" Emma says handing me a tank top and shorts. "Your gonna need them if your training with the alphas" she says and I smile. "Give me a moment to change and I'll be ready" I tell Jayden who nods and leans against the wall. I scoot past him and go into the bathroom to change.

Jaydens POV

I could smell Lilly come up behind me and as I turned my wolf let out a howl. 'Look at her' Crimson howled again. I smile at her. "You look very pretty" I say and Emma chuckles. "You two are cute have fun at training" Emma says before walking out of the room. "This isnt to bad right" Lilly asked softly and i shook my head. "Lilly you are gorgeous plus you will want to strip it off before shifting" I say and I watch her eyes grow.

"Take off my clothes?" She said with her eyes still the size of saucers. "Yes otherwise you will rip them then have to walk back here naked" I say and she remains quiet for a moment before laughing. "That would be a sight " she comments and i chuckle. We walk out and climb in the car. I drive us to the pack house and then we get out to go find my dad. I'm not shocked then I see my mom instead of my dad. "Lilly this is my mom Luna Kenya" I say and Lilly bows her head. "Luna" she says and my mom smiles. "When its just us you can call me Kenya. Now I understand that you are my future daugther in law" my mom says and Lilly nods. "I guess I am. You raised a great guy." Lilly says before blushing. My mom chuckles and smiles. "Did he tell you about his sibling" she says and Lilly shakes her head. "Well for one he is a twin. Then he has three younger siblings. Younger then you even. " my mom says and Lilly smiles. "I have a twin sister but sadly I dont think you will ever meet her. I think she wants me dead. " Lilly said letting out a small sigh. My mom pulls her into a hug. "Im sorry its like that my dear. But you have a big family now and no one will harm you." My mom said and Lilly looked like she was going to cry.

Lillys POV

After Kenya said that I couldnt help but tear up. I had always wanted a family like this and I knew I had one. Aroura told me several times that the pack was my family. 'Its almost midnight' Aroura said and I look at Jayden and Kenya. "So what is going to happen on this shift." I ask looking between them. "Im not going to sugar coat it. You will be in pain. You have to focus on what you want and let it happen." Kenya said and I swallow. 'Just listen to my voice when the time comes. I will try to ease the pain a little but I cant too much because I'm going to lead the shift' Aroura says. 'So I just listen to you and it will be quick?' I ask aroura and chuckles. 'Yes but once we shift we can finally go for a run with out mate' Aroura says and I nod. I remeber having dreams of being a wolf and running thru the forest. Now that dream was about to come true.

"Alright, Jay turn around for the young lady. Lilly I want you to remove your clothes and put them by that tree" Kenya instructed. I blushed as I removed the borrowed clothes and tried to cover myself a little. I was very modest and this was rather uncomfortable. "Ok now the moon is going to hit the peak soon. Jayden will shift with you. When it starts to happen listen to your wolf" Kenya instructs as a searing pain spread across my body. 'Lilly' I heard Aroura say and I take a breath. The pain keeps building but i listen to Aroura and soon I look down and see I'm standing on paws. I look at Kenya and her eyes are wide. "I'll be back stay will Jayden" Kenya says before stripping down and shifting before running off. I looked at Jayden who came up and nuzzled me. Soon I saw two more wolves running back over to us. The one I reconized as Kenyas the other I assumed was Alpha Steven's.

Jaydens POV

After Lilly shifted I knew something was up based on my moms gasp. I shifted and turned to see something i wasnt expecting. Lilly was the same size as my dad but her wolfs coat was light blue with a white patch on her chest and tip of tail. Her eyes were bright red. I stood admiring my mate and then knew why my mom ran off so quickly.

We had a proficiency that read:

Light in color a wolf with appear, first of their kind. To unite all specie and destroy all threats. They will call upon the goddess's favor to save from domination and protect the weak.

Lilly so far ticked most of the boxes. Since she hasnt officially joined our pack I couldn't mind link her. My parents returned and brought me into the conversation. 'She has to be the one. Its what the proficey foretold' my mom linked to us. 'Yes but their was a second part we never found' my dad linked.

' what are you planning dad' I linked and he looked at me. 'We must protect her at all costs. She cant shift around other wolves. At least not for now. We have to keep her a secret' my dad linked and me and my mom nodded. Lilly looked scared and i put my head on hers. She nuzzled into me and her wolf let out a sigh.
