CHAPTER 6 The double doors flew open with enough force to dent the walls and snap me out of my train of thought. An angry officer in Terran colours burst through, flanked by two guards. Homing in on the doctor, he marched directly up to her. “Doctor Lucas,” he roared, “I want a situation report. Now.” Doctor Lucas tore herself away from her monitors. She leafed through some papers, selected one, and handed it to the officer. Without taking his glare off her, he snatched the paper out of her hand and slapped it back onto the consoles. “Sir, this isn’t the best time…” Doctor Ling interjected. She stood up from her chair and approached the officer. He tore his gaze off Doctor Lucas long enough to shoot the psychologist a sharp look, silencing her. “Not good enough,” the officer shouted
