Daphne’s POV Why is Miles staring at me like he’s mad? Did I say or do something wrong? “You don’t have to eat it if you don’t want to, Miles. There are other fruits. Daphne was just being nice,” Reynold says in a calm tone. “Daphne,” Miles calls out to me, his eyes fixed on mine. “I’m allergic to pineapple,” he adds with a faint smile. My eyes widen. His smile doesn’t reach his eyes, and I can hear the pain laced in his voice. “I’m sorry I can’t eat what you want me to eat,” he adds quietly. “Miles, I had no idea. That was so stupid of me, okay? I shouldn’t have done this. I’m sorry,” I say quickly, desperation rising in my voice. Why did I make such a careless mistake? “It’s not your fault,” he says as he gets up. “I’ll go get ready for work,” he adds in a low tone and walks away
