“So what you’re saying is she entered a fake marriage with Miles—just to fool his dead grandfather—and they planned to divorce after a year, but then they fell in love and had a baby?” he said. His words hit me like a punch, and my anger surged.
“She isn’t in love with him. She’s just confused,” I snapped, irritation thick in my tone.
“I think you’re just in denial,” he replied. I clenched my fist so hard I could feel the tense muscles in my arm.
“Don’t piss me off, Xander,” I warned, every word laced with anger.
“Alright, chill. Don’t get upset with me—you should be upset with them. Now I see why you don’t mess with him anymore. He betrayed you, and that sucks. So what are we going to do about this?” he asked.
“We?” I questioned, confusion wrestling with my rising fury
