Macho don’t buy off no angels, I know, but I think us crazy wireheads do stupid stuff sometimes not so much to impress the competition as to impress ourselves. You’d say we’ve all got egos big as a garbage barge anyway with all the customizing we do on our Personas. You’d say it’s a liability, that it takes too long to change the Persona appearance and that it’s a tactical advantage to be a faceless face in the crowd. Didn’t it ever occur to you we do all that to avoid being a faceless face? Take a hundred people my age from anywhere in Pacifica or Atlantica and line ’em up. What do you see? A lot of bald heads and leather and ripped-up denim.
