Chapter thirteenPepper – It’s amazing the garbage that no longer matters when you’re dead. When you can’t Restore and you can’t copyback your warez anymore you get really antsy about taking damage and flinging Nulls around. But then I ask myself what am I saving all this for? I’m dead. Ghost in the machine. It’s what I wanted, right? Everyone I ever cared about is dead. Suicide is one escape plan that doesn’t need a getaway driver. A corpse doesn’t need a lawyer. Did you ever realize how much time we spend thinking of the future? What do you think about when you don’t have a future? What am I? Is the real me this thing in rags wandering around NetSpace in a brainless daze, or that corpse still floating in the tank up there somewhere in Old DC? I don’t guess it matters much anymore,
