Evan sat in the old library late into the night, dust dancing in the moonlight.
She opened the worn leather journal her mother had once kept one she’d been forbidden to read as a child.
Page after page, secrets spilled.
Affairs.
Hidden bank accounts Business betrayals. And the one truth she had always suspectedher mother’s death wasn’t an accident.
There was a witness. Someone named Doctor Hale a name that hadn’t appeared in her past life. He had treated her mother just before the fire. And then, he vanished.
Evan made a note in her black leather notebook.
She traced her fingers along a photograph tucked inside the journal. Her mother, smiling softly. A face she hadn’t seen in years.
“I’m back, Mom,” she whispered. “And I won’t let them bury you in silence again.”
Just then, her phone buzzed. A message from an unknown number:
“They’ll come for you soon. Be ready.”
Her eyes widened.
So someone knew she was alive. Someone from the shadows.
But were they friend... or foe?
is this person after me....but apart those blood sucking monster I was enemies free
I have the feeling we will meet soon,I thought as I closed the door to the old library
