CHAPTER TWENTY

IF IT WILL BE.

Location: Lana's room.

"Lana, why do you think he acted that way?" Beatrice asks as she jumps on Lana's bed.

"Well, girl maybe it was shock or work, he hasn't texted you?" Lana asks as she brings in the toast and drinks, placing it on the mini table for both of them, Beatrice stands up, she has changed her clothes into some night wear, she has some in Lana's house.

"Not one text or any call." Beatrice replies as she takes a toast to eat.

"Well, i- I don't know but I think, it is the shock, you see that is my only answer, Mark isn't the type to be silent." Lana adds as she shakes her head.

"i- I don't know, what if he just thinks it is some business meeting and I had to pretend like i don't know him or something." Beatrice mouths over the toast in her mouth.

"Oh, come on, Mark can't think that far, and even if he can I doubt if he will assume that, just take a deep breathe." Lana says as she smiles to her.

"you know what? let's watch pitch perfect and let's take your mind off this." Lana suggests immediately to change the atmosphere of the room.

"So, how was that dude? is he nice or what?" Lana asks as she smiles and giggles

"I just know his name is Jack and that's all, I- I didn't converse with him much when i saw Mark leaving, I only did that to make him jealous and he- he pretty much understood, I just dropped my card and I left." Beatrice says with a low tone as she just looks at her toast.

"What? oh my God, i- I thought you wanted to move on but it doesn't seem like that to me if you ask me." Lana says as she takes her wine.

"Fine, I guess I will text the guy, Jack and ask him for breakfast or something you know to make up for how i left him, oh better still I chat him up tonight. " Beatrice says as she raises her shoulders up.

"Yes, do it, I mean you guys might end up being friends with him and you will finally be in a relationship, do you know how long I have like been wanting to like Uh, for you go date someone it has be ages" Lana says like a baby.

"Calm down, will you? I will text him now Okay?" Beatrice says as laughs it off.

Lana is a hopeless romantic.

Beatrice:"Hi, It's Beatrice, I am sorry, i left suddenly, can i make it up to you?"

Jack: Definitely.

Beatrice: So what about a more sincere apology over pancakes and tea?

Jack: Well, that is oddly specific but sure, drop the address. Seems like a cliche from a hopeless romantic movie.

Beatrice: you can't blame me can you? I am trying aren't I?"

Jack: 10 points for being honest, another 10 for trying, is that okay mama?".

Beatrice: It's a date, no a second date.

Jack: Great.

"So, I have another tomorrow." Beatrice says with a grin, the girls laugh and watched the movie.

The Next Day

Mark and James at the office.

"Good morning sir Mark, you are here very early, is it prior to what we talked about yesterday?" James asks his boss as he drops his bag and brings out the file. "Regarding that, uh- I am thinking you do another explanation, i wasn't listening at all yesterday and well if I am being honest- I didn't get any information, I was thinking about Beatrice and well, I didn't think about work at all." Mark replies with his head buried in the files.

"Okay I will explain all over again, you- you are to go to COZA to close a deal with Amor Corporation and Flenzo, this is a huge deal that we need in our company, your dad insists on it.

"Okay, when am I to leave?" Mark asks as he sighs.

"Next week, without fail, you should be in COZA" James adds as he closes the file and passes to Mark.

"Okay, I will have to meet Anthony and the CEO of Amor corporations, that name sounds familiar though." Mark says as he ponders on the name.

"I should read up on this company, they are similar to ours right?" Mark asks.

"Yeah, they have be since the 1800's, and they have been strong."

Mark uses his desktop and searches for The Amor Corporation

"Their daughter isn't the new CEO, why?" Mark asks James as he is confused.

"It turns out something happened, her friend is holding the position now her name is Jessica and I don't know what happened but she isn't around for the time being, some are saying she is staying somewhere for research but there are so many bad comments and remarks about her, she was a drug addict and she was in some mental home, they are stories that she might be in a mental home or something" James explains as he reads from his phone.

"That's quite unfortunate, she seems different and misunderstood and her name, it seems awfully familiar, I wonder why. Make a research on Jessica and also the new CEO, find out every little detail, where she schooled, where she is and all of that, something is off, you know i don't like games when it comes to closing business deals and I for one don't want any trouble or drama, so get me all the information and yeah, have you heard from Beatrice today?" Mark asks.

"Well, I haven't but it seems she is fine." James replies immediately.

Mark phone starts buzzing really loud, same as James, Mark silences it but James brings his out.

"What? your girlfriend is calling? keep it on a low you know, don't rub it on my face that I just lost a chance." Mark says as he buries his face into the files about Amor Corporations.

"i am also as single as you are, but I am just-" James suddenly pauses

"What did you suddenly stop talking?" Mark says as he raises up his head, from the files.

"uhm, I think I just- I just found out something about ma'am Beatrice."

"Let me see that" Mark collects the phone, reading out loud he says this.

Well, it seems there is a new love interest in Beatrice's life, the model and former love of Mark Smith, For the first time in years, Beatrice seems found a new lover as they have been seen twice now, Last night and this morning, some are asking if she and Mark have broken up? but in what we have seen, it seems Beatrice isn't with Mark Smith anymore, with the pictures that we have seen, We can say she is with the Lawyer now, finally after all this years of being a shadow lover and waiting she is finally moving on. I wonder who finally told her to leave Mark, being the heir and CEO of the blue heart division, he has been really proud and picky, he should have been with Beatrice, they are the perfect pair but for some reason he didn't, he is such a loser, once again, we will be sure to give you all the details, we will have to wait for the official statement from Beatrice, if this is true. Her fans will be so happy.

"Wow, she really has moved on, I did lose her."

"Uh, it isn't confirmed yet, you know how these bloggers are."

"Until it is confirmed? then what happens." Mark asks his assistant

Mark phone starts buzzing, he hurries checks his phone, thinking its from Beatrice

"Hi, I am Jessica, I am the girl you gave the heirloom to at the horse ranch, I am with the heirloom, and you can come visit me at COZA, I will willing to- to return back the heirloom and not say a word about it, I just found out that it is the heirloom of your family, and it is totally understandable why you gave me the necklace, I find it actually funny, I found out that your company and mine are to merge, so...what better way than for us to meet and settle it."

"Well, that settles it, Beatrice is having breakfast with lawyer and it seems she has moved on, I was being a fool all this while, and Jessica the girl I gave my heirloom to is - she just texted me, in life you win some and you lose some, I will leave for Coza."

"You want to leave without telling her?" James asks his boss

"You just saw the news, she replaced me and what can I about that, I- I finally realised that- that I love her and its too late, so i- i will just leave for COZA, I will bag the deals and I will just uh get the heirloom and I will come back, I shouldn't hold her back, i did that for so long, since we were kids, i- I should just be happy for her and also, uh Book a flight to Coza, I will be leaving now, you will come join me in days time." Mark says, you can sense the pain in his voice and how he wants to mend things with his friend.

Three hours later, Mark has landed in COZA.

"where is Mark?" Beatrice asks James as she enters the office.

"Uh- He just left for COZA, i will be flying there tomorrow." James explains as he arranges the bags.

"Coza? I am sorry but I didn't know he was travelling, is he at the airport, can I meet him?" Beatrice asks as she is lost on the new information she just heard.

"Yeah, I called him yesterday at the restaurant you were supposed to meet at, the call was for business and something else." James says as he adjusts his glasses.

"Okay, but that doesn't mean he would leave so immediately or at least without informing me first." Beatrice says as she folds her arms, trying to call Mark, his line isn't going through.

"What else did he go to Coza for?" Beatrice asks as she us suddenly getting angry.

"Uh- it seems the smith Family heirloom has been found." James explains as he closes the suitcase.

"Heirloom? the same one he gave that Jessica girl ages ago? found?How is it found?" Beatrice asks.

"Well, I am not sure maam but he left in a hurry." James' replies as he stands still, Beatrice leaves as she slams the door.

"Lana, Mark is in COZA, he is in his way to find the missing heirloom, what if he meets that girl? what if all this scheming was for nothing, what if he falls in love with that girl? what if?" Beatrice says in the car as she calls Lana.

"it is not for nothing, you have Jack, the lawyer and it has created a stir. If he loves you, he will get back his heirloom and that's it, if he loves you, he will come for you." Lana says at the other line.

"Well, I will hook up with Jack tonight, and you know what? I even have it on video." Beatrice says hanging up.

"Oh no, you better not- Damn it, she hanged up on me, oh my God.'
