Chapter 9

Chapter 9 Andrew’s POV I knew something was amiss the entire time that lupine was in our custody. I always debated the reason I kept him alive and could never figure out why I chose to turn him in. He had to have done something to her when they were fighting on top of the cliff. He never attacked her except grasping her wrists, and for a moment there, it was like she wasn’t awake. All her awareness was gone in and instant, and I feared he would make a killing blow, but he didn’t even hurt her. Queen Lana entrusted me with her, and I was always careful. Never letter her being in more danger than she could handle. He came out of nowhere and now… The queen did warn me not to be so pushful into a relationship with her, but at the time, I just wanted to make her happy. Even at twelve, she was so beautiful. Just being around her just made the ever-increasing desire to fill her and have her orgasm on me. I have to play it cool because she still hasn’t aged out of being a little brat. I grabbed one of the servant girls and pulled her into the closest room. She cries out, but I slap her, and she shuts up. Her eyes stare at me puzzled, but then she smiles when she recognizes with an annoying giggle. I threw her across the table and lifted up her skirt. I unsheathe my d**k and spit in my hand to have some lube. Most chicks aren’t wet enough for my size. I entered her and closed my eyes, imagining it was my princess. I hump wildly until I release and pull out of the tramp. I button my pants back and walk out of the room when I see an enormous eye in the window looking into the palace. It fills the entire window frame. I’m frozen in place when the eye moves away, and then the roof caves in on top of me. When I manage to squeeze through the rubble, I can hear the warning bells throughout the city. Hou Ndour’s giants are attacking the city, and they are already at the palace. We aren’t prepared to deal with one, let alone how many are possible out there. How did they break in so easily? I rush back to the princess’s quarters with my one thought, overwhelming me. I can’t lose my princess. Aela’s POV He told me to leave the city. I’m not leaving my countrymen behind. I try to argue with myself. Something Aunt Lana could protect us from that he will distract her to create a weakness. Now, that’s a puzzle I’m not able to figure out. I walk out of the palace and go to the guard post to ask if they have seen anything that might be concerning. Not much luck with that investigation. They all just laughed at me and told me not to be concerned. I see Lady Altasa running out of the palace. She’s in a hurry with her hair half undone. “Lady Altasa, what’s wrong?” “Dear Princess, it’s a travesty. The Queen has been cursed with some despicable disease. Her hair is falling out, and her skin is turning green all over her body, with large yellow hives! I have to find an herbal remedy promptly!” Lady Altasa rushes away, and my gut is now feeling the ominous atmosphere. He said she had to choose between herself or her people. But did he really have to strike at her appearance? I never thought of her to be vain. He must know her better than I. I rush to the guard outlook at the front gates of the palace. I climb the tower and search the horizon. Up this high, I can see all the way to the port, and the fog on the bay is thick with the sunrise just a few minutes ago. I strain to see the weaving of Aunt Lana’s magical fields, and I see no holes or irregularities. She’s an excellent wardsman and has protected the city for centuries. No one has ever been able to get through her wards. I haven’t been able to detect anything until a bit of wind whips the opposite direction of the current. I search for the source and find nothing until randomly a large footprint appears in the pond along the side of the palace. A giant’s footprint. An invisible giant? I run down the wall to the warning bell and go past the guards as I hear a crash beside me. A large wall of the palace has been struck down and crumbled into the courtyard below. I can now see the giant, and he’s clasping his hands above his head to attack the palace structure again. The way a toddler would strike down a wooden block tower. I reach the bell and start banging to get the warning out for the attack even though I know it’s already too late. A giant is something we have to have special equipment to even be able to disable, let alone kill. The giant turns around and charges towards me and the bell. s**t! He’s going to take out this side of the wall to stop the ringing. I run as fast as I can and feel the wall crumble beneath my feet. I fell to the ground on the side of the street and hid as the giant found another target. I catch my breath slowly and glance around. There are other giants walking around the capital. The voice in the back of my head keeps repeating ‘nadar’ in a strange chant. I wish I understood what it’s trying to do because right now, its influence could be helpful in my terrified state. It was obviously aware of the situation earlier this morning. After assessing the giant movements, I decided to head to the stables and start running to at least reach the barracks to get something larger than just daggers. I reached the large pile of debris and rubble, which was once the barracks. Sadly, the giant has already crashed all the structures in the area and even through the armory. I see men running in a large group away from the giants. Some old warrior yells out to run to the forest because giants aren’t able to search the dense forest. I hear the burst of cannon fire towards one of the giants, and I smirk. It won’t stop the giant much, but it’s better than nothing. I’m now in a full-out run dodging the cannon balls and the debris the giants are wildly swinging to wreck everything in sight. I make it to the next guard checkpoint just outside one of the large markets of the capital, and it's already deserted. I don’t even question it because I’m still rushing until I see two giants have already leveled everything in front of me. I try to find a safe path to the next checkpoint when I see two children huddled in debris. A giant loom over them as if its searching for survivors. If I can dissuade it, then the girls can run and hide somewhere else. Without hesitation, I pick up a stone and throw it at the giant. He turns and roars loudly and nearly bursts my eardrums. I start to run in the opposite direction, finding the clearest path to be able to dodge the rubble he’s throwing at me. The ground begins to rumble as he stomps closer to me. The earthquakes cause me to misplace my footing. Falling to the ground and scrapping my knees and hands in the process. Startled, I glanced back to meet my doom. Shock of relief rips through me as the giant is no longer pursuing me. He wasn’t charging at me he was trying to stomp on a pitch-black massive monster wolf. The wolf jumps onto its knee and lunges for an artery in the giants thigh. The giant tries to smack the wolf like a fly. I instinctually try to hide from witnessing the crushing sound, but I’m stunned when I see a naked man on the giants hand. A nostalgic feeling washed over me and made my hand stretch towards him with anxious anticipation, but nothing happened. In the blink of an eye, the naked man now has two black blades in his hands. I’m puzzled to where he acquired them. They aren’t very long, but almost in slow motion, I can see him flip in, the air from the giants hand. A deep s***h spurts across the giants neck and then crosses over his belly as the naked man falls to the ground. His blades dissipated into thin air, and he transformed into his black wolf form, landing on his four feet. The giant intestines are falling out as the giant crumbles to the ground. The wolf runs towards me, and its glowing eyes catch mine, and my mouth drops in shock. The c*****e and grotesque form of the giant has alerted the second giant, and I can feel the rumble of the giant coming to defend its buddy of destruction. The wolf arrives next to me, and he’s even larger up close. My head doesn’t even reach the top of his shoulder. He is nearly twice as big as even the largest breeds of horses. His jowl hovers over my head, and he tries to nuzzle into my arms, but I step back hesitantly. He lays down next to me and tries to push me into him, but I step away again, wearily cautious of this mad beast. In a blink of an eye, he’s in his hazel eyed naked form. It is confirmed, Lana’s son with her matching hazel eyes, the one who knew the giants would arrive and evidently helped ensure the giants’ success. I am filled with rage and anger at his lack of justice for the innocents. He was born a child of Redland, and he has little regard for them. The shaking of the next giant is getting nearer, and I should find a place to hide. “Jump on my back. I’ll get you to safety.” He says pleading with me. I still shove away from him and shake my head a definitive no. He scans the area around us and watches the giant on its way towards us. He growls in frustration. “You will die if I leave you here.” He shouts at me, and I’m just reminded of Aunt Lana accusation of being jealous of my relationship with her. Wouldn’t he be grateful if I died? “I have to save my aunt. She’s the last family I have left.” I say, turning him down. I start to run back to the entrance to the tunnels under the capital and palace. He clenches his fist, and I can feel his anger almost like it’s my very own. “We don’t have time. My mother will survive, don’t worry she’s hard to kill. Now, come with me. You don’t have the manpower to win this battle.” “We do if you fought.” I yelled at him full of angst against his injustice for the people of Redford. I point out accusingly, “You are a prince, aren’t you?” “Abandoned, cast out and exiled. I have no more obligations to this land anymore except to you.” He says, pulling me into an embrace. “I know you are strong, Delia. But you aren’t ready for this yet.” “Why do you call me Delia?” I scream at him as the giant spots us and starts to rush towards us. He shakes his head and growls in frustration, “Jump on my back or ride in my teeth.” With a swish of air next to me, he’s back in his wolf form. He growls, and I roll my eyes as I mount his back like a horse. Grabbing onto his fur, and before the giant reaches us, he’s already running at full speed, never stopping even when we reach the coverage of the dense forest.
