I sign some company papers. Matthew was supposed to do it, because it’s his job, but I guess he’s very busy with his new girlfriend. I prefer him to be with her and not with mine. It’s all the same to me, but it’s something I enjoy. There is a part of me that wants to believe Alice is playing dumb with me, and another part of me that says she is just a scared girl who has lived in fear for so many years, under the shadow of a father who hates her for no apparent reason. I don’t understand why either. That hatred was what made me bring her with me. Her father wanted to get rid of her, wanted her completely out of their lives, and he was truly grateful to me for that.
