Don’t Pull Away

“Oh! A feast for the women and one for the men?” Asai mused

“They probably sent word to the Kodiac about your arrival to the city.” Keylyn said “The Weasel king probably hopes to give you to the Kodiac once he returns”

Asai pulled me into an embrace and tried to lean in for a kiss. I pulled away Sanna went to freshen up for the dinner with the Queen. The thought of Sanna and Asai being in the room alone is depressing it’s me ruining my trust of Asai. I know its unfair of me to ask Asai to pull away from Sanna, and I won’t ask that of him knowing that i’m not going to be a permanent constant in his life. It’s still hard to keep my feeling from getting hurt.

“I found the shrine” I said trying to redirect the prince

Asai blinked “You did?”

“Yes, the power that resedes there is powerful but it fortunately does not grant wishes.”

“What is it?” Asai asked curiously

“A shield. A powerful witch created this living shield to protect the people of Musetela. They are also worshipping her as a deity.”

“If they have this power why did they allow the bears to take over?” Keylyn asked

“They didn’t” I said “this is a hostile take over. The bears found this city on accident their will was too strong. The shield maiden was unable to influence them.”

“Well thanks to everyone’s efforts we have what we need.” Keylyn said “We will split up in small groups, the plan will be as follows. Tomorrow morning at dawn Samson and Bronson will set fire to the armories to prevent the Musetela from arming themselves during the siege. Once that is done Bronson and Samson will take the South gate. That gate is the lesser gate and can easily be taken. The only guards stationed there are the Musetela city guard, the twins will make short work of them. Thea and Galga we are counting on you to take the western gate, That’s also a lesser gate guarded by the City Guards. The main gates are the eastern and northern gate. We saw the Ursa leave out the eastern gate so I believe that they will return by that gate. That gate must be taken in order to keep the Kodiac out of the city. My lady please send word to Ulah to dispatch the guards on the walls and the take the northern gate just as the sun breaks the horrizon.”

“Is there any questions are we all in understanding?” Keylyn asked once he was done explaining his plan to us.

I nod my head and whispered Ulah’s name into the night along with his instructions. It’s amazing how will the bat shifters can hear. I can send messages to him with the need of a bird or a messenger. It’s quite convenient. Too bad I don’t have the same hearing ability.

A small white butterfly was seen floating among the orange pinks and purples of the setting sun. I signal that Ulah has heard my instructions. I nod my head then turned to Asai and the others.

“Ulah received the message.” I said

“Good now we just have dinner and wait till dawn.” Keylyn said

There was a firm knock on the door a few moments before it opened. The white Weasel slowly walked in and bowed in respect.

“Hello Mako” I greeted the girl

She stood in the door way uncomfortable not wanting to meet anyone’s eyes. “The Queens dinner will be starting shortly. I’ve come to escort the official consort”

The Official consort? Does that mean only Sanna is invited to the dinner? I looked at the white weasel confused… but was to scared to ask the question for fear of insulting the Queen.

“Is Talia not invited?” Asai asked offended

The answer is clear from the way the poor girl is acting. She was made to deliver this news to the prince knowing it could be confrontational for the messenger.

“It’s okay.” I smiled up at Asai “The king was telling me that Vole only take one mate for life. In this case I’m not your official consort therefore I’m not allowed at the dinner. This is Sana’s duty as your official consort anyway i’ll just stay in the rooms and have dinner with the girls and Keylyn.”

Asai sighs and nods his head “Sana…”

Sana stepped up her back rim rod straight as she basque in her glory. Mako bowed in respect to Sana then escorted her out of the room. My heart is in so much pain right now I couldn’t speak. I just slowly quietly went to sit at the day bed near the window. I wanted to call Ulah to take me back to the army so that I could hide in my tiny house away from everyone. But my duty is here.

Foot steps quickly approached me, I turn to see Asai looming over me. He pulled me up into his embrace into his kiss. I struggled against him and pulled away.

“Stop let me down!” I demanded

Asai growled in my ear. I knew that tone and I stopped struggling.

“As long as you are in this world you are mine” Asai said “Stop pulling away from me whenever you feel threatened, stop pulling away when I come to show you comfort trust that our bond is strong. Look at me!”

I sniffled and forced myself to look Asai in the eye “You are mine. I won’t allow you to shut yourself away from me our time is precious. Do not concern yourself with anything outside of what we share. Stop pulling away I won’t allow it. Doing so will make me want to hunt you I’ll never let you go then. Am I clear?”

Asai wiped the tears from my eyes.

“Need an answer” He demanded his eyes flashed dangerously.

“Yes” I said nodding my head

Asai’s chest rumbled in approval, claiming my lips in his. He pinned me to the day bed his kiss getting deeper and deeper as he claimed every last inch of my mouth. Unable to breath I broke the kiss and gasped for air.

“I need air” I said breathlessly

“Me too” Asai said claiming my lips again

“Well stop kissing me” I laughed pulling away again

“Stop pulling away!” Asai growled

I stopped moving. Asai’s voice was not his own this was a new development. Black wolves are a lot stronger than most. The stronger a black wolf get the more likely the human mind and the wolf mind begin to separate. The wolf side will no longer share the same feelings or desires of the human mind and begin developing his own. In some cases the separation can get to a point where the wolf side would no longer share a name with the human side. In rare cases the wolf side takes over control burying the human side completely.
