There’s a Rat!
“Well, well, well! What do we have here?” the Captain said. The Captain and his guards quickly marched into the dungeon and surrounded Duke and Michel. “Trying to escape, are we?”
“No, no, err…” Michel spluttered.
“Grab a hold of them.” Two guards grabbed a hold of Michel, as the four others struggled to lift Duke. “You’re both coming with me.”
“Where to?”
“You’ll see.”
What was going to happen? Were they going to bring forward their execution again? That would be today then! What had happened? How did the guards get down here so soon after? Maybe it was the vendor, perhaps he had told the guards. Sweat trickled down Michel’s face, as Duke continued to snore.
