Avery was fading in and out of consciousness when Benj arrived inside of her hospital room, laying on her side in the bed, tears and sweat covering her face, matting her hair to her head. He had pulled up a chair and took hold of her clammy hand in his, crying tears of his own out of fear while they waited for the doctor. Avery let out a whimper that turned into a cry as she clenched her arm around herself like it could stop the pain. Benj didn't know what was wrong with her, and he was freaking out. A nurse entered the room then, washing her hands in the sink before sitting on a stool and turning on the computer sitting in the corner.
