Chapter 24

Alex and Anna had finally gotten Somnia inside a Personal VIP suite for the Alpha family inside the hospital and her vitals were superprizing. She wasn’t just sleeping. She had put herself into a self induced coma.

It had become abundantly clear that they needed to work on their communication skills with Nia when she said sleep this was not what anyone was thinking of.

Although it did give all of them a chance to get a close up look at not only Nia, but precious little Amber as well.

“ look at our precious little cub.’ Miko said lovingly.

“ I always thought you never wanted kids.’ Ethan said with stars in his eyes.

Miko glanced up at his brother “ that’s not true at all. I just couldn’t imagine having kids with any of the sluts that kept throwing themselves out way. They only wanted the power that our station held. Pretty as they were they would have treated our cubs like crap.

But seeing how protective my mate is over her self made family. ‘ he could only shake his head in wonder.

“ I know brother. How could anyone convince her that she’s anything less than a queen?

Alex took the rare opportunity to feel the twins moving inside her belly. “ you guys should feel this while you can. I didn’t know that I would feel so… connected to my cubs, even before they are born. You don’t think she’ll mind that we’re touching them do you?’

Stefan looks up God’s I hope not cause I can’t help myself! It’s like Amber is made of sunshine and the twins are thunder storms!’

Jacob walks back into the room followed by Icor who apparently been there for a while and was patiently observing them all. He had patiently stayed near Jacob lending him the much needed strength, knowing how deep the feelings run in a young serpent shifter.

“Nia has been my rainbow since the moment I met her. Did you know I had lost my family about three months before I met her.

I was gonna rob her in her sleep so I could eat, same moment Amber opened her eyes and I realized she was my mate I felt Nia wrap her hand round my throat yank me down to look dead in her eyes and said to me. “ Any man willing to steal from a babe is already dead in heart. I can show you good ways, or send you Goddess now!” I knew I would follow her anywhere after that!

She taught me it was safer to sleep in the trees. Took her two days to teach me how to forage an hunt myself. And one minute to show me that being a rouge don’t mean you gotta turn into a savage.

Tears started running down his eyes again staring at his sleeping mate and friend lying side. By side. Turns out she’s been responsible for doing that for her family since she was three years old. Self taught. She did this to me in my sleep, even when I begged her not to.’ He flexed his arms to show his muscles.

“ I’m fourteen I, I don’t even know what to do with this extra strength! That girl was born a queen. And ain’t none of us will ever be good enough for her. No matter how much we try.

Icor placed both his hands on the young man’s shoulders. “ well said. But I think she knew that you would need to be here to learn to be a true protector.”

That brought up a soft gasp from him. Ethan asked him what was wrong.

“ Nia kept telling me ‘ I protect you now ,so you protect them later!’

“ then there you have it in-between me my mate who you call Nonna, and the beta you will learn to be the strongest protector this century. Now give your mate a proper goodbye and fortify you’re training begins now.

Icor gave Jacob just enough time to walk over to touch his best friend’s hand and give it a gentle squeeze and kiss amber gently on the forehead before leading him out of the room. Icor looked behind him, come and get me when you are ready to go. If it is true that a witch resides in that pack, then you will definitely need my help. Meanwhile I will help young Jacob work off this frustration.” And let him out of the hospital.

As the brother’s looked at each other they couldn’t help but look at their mate with pure love and admiration. Miko almost whispers I wasn’t allowed to start my training till I was twelve, even then we were eighteen when we graduated. The youngest ever. And she’s taught herself at three!

“ Took our mate two days to teach what our multiple instructors used six years to do. Jacob is right in Moore ways than he knows.’

“ we are soo not worthy. I can’t wait to get the confirmation from Alpha Ivan so we can bring the queen home once and for all.

Chapter 25

Ivan couldn’t walk back to the hospital room fast enough . Ever since his daughter returned to him he felt and overwhelmed with a mixer of thankfulness, grief for his other daughter that he witnessed pass away from the eyes of his cub and thankfully for the gifts that his wife and cub were not only alive, but his cub literally ran back to him in her time of need with not just the answers that he had been desperately searching for two decades. But his kid brought him back grandkids !

But most of all he needs to be in the room with them to not only keep her vitals stable, now that she finally agreed to accept at least a little bit of strength from him. Goddess he didn’t ever consider that a gift he would be thankful to give to his kids someday, but here he is!

Plus he just needs to be able to see them to make sure they don’t disappear.

It always needs to be him and at least half of her mates near her to keep her vitals stable now.

It only took Alexander a few minutes to figure out that she was sustaining not only her vitals, but also Amber’s and he suspected her twin’s as well.

So he has made the decision to hold the conference in the room with his daughter. But hey, he’s not going to complain.

He still did his best to Maintain his dignity as he rejoined the group and sat in-between his child and grandkids .

Good evening everyone as of last evenings events, Bartek and I finally have a hell of a lot more answers to questions we have been seeking.

We know the name of the pack where the queen and my cubs were being , are being held to this day. The name of the origin of the pack responsible for the trafficking rings. And last, but most certainly not least the paternity of.’

He had to take a deep breath to say the name of his fallen cub.

‘ Sasha, Amber’s Mom, and Somnia ‘s twin sister . As well as the father of Nia’s twin babies.

For some reason unknown to the quads hearing Sasha’s name also sent a pang of grievance through their hearts as well.

“ So how has our mate managed to track down all of this information all by herself?” Ethan inquired genuinely curious to know.

“ Because the answers all lead to the same source. Alpha Otis of the blood tooth pack.’

Stefan smacks his hands on the computer desk he’s set up. “ I was hoping it was any of the other Options I found. That slimy prick is fifty nine years old! You mean to tell me that he is our Amber’s father!’

“ And Nia’s twins.’ Ivan said with a not so subtle growl in his voice. Everyone in the room could feel the hostile power roiling off of Ivan. It was starting to turn the shock that the quads were feeling into hostility as well.

So much so that the tempature in the room was starting to rise.

At least until one of the White roses in a water vase reached out and started to rub soothingly on Ivan’s cheek.

That act alone was shocking enough to make all the males in the room stop and check on the females just to see they had accidentally made little Amber’s blood pressure rise enough to make her break into a sweat.

They all instantly understood that this was Nia’s subtle way of telling them all to settle down, or else.

Everyone took the time to take a few deep breaths so they could continue their conversation. Somnia has indicated that she, her sister and my mate were all being held in a special room beneath the pack dungeons. And as far as we know my mate is still being held there in isolation away from the rest of his pack.

Stefan speaks up at this point. “ I’m not sure if I even need to show you the video recordings that we have of what happened in the blessed forest around Granny’s cabin, because we were all there to hear my sweet mate declaring that everyone in Blood tooth was forced to reject their mates on site!

Which we have learned over time to be a true marker of trafficking rings.

Ivan seems curious and was relieved to have something else to focus on in that moment.

“ I think I might still need to watch those tapes Stefan. It will help to solidify justifiable cause to the council.

“ Of course Alpha, I simply need to warn you that those recordings are brutal. And two… every act you see is something that Nia has directly witnessed happening within the blood tooth pack. Of what happens to people that refuse to reject their own mates on site. Apparently the punishment is always public as well. It’s downright medieval.

“Play it for me.”

Bartek stepped in” Maybe I should watch it before you do Alpha. I mean no disrespect, but the last thing you need right now is to be made emotionally unstable right now. I mean you need to think happy thoughts, as long as you are being a power conductor for your cub and grandkids. The first warning with the flowers kind of proved that point!”

Ivan looked at the USB drive in his hand for a long time. The reason why he wanted to watch the recordings was not just for evidence, but he sincerely wants to understand better who his daughter is and what she’s gone through.

“ I know what your thinking Ivan, but the only sure fire way to get to know her is to wait for her to wake and talk with her. I mean yeah, you could always dance around the hard parts and essentially read her diary. But you better than anyone else in the pack should know, the easy way, is a myth . Besides you have time now.”

“ but how much. She’s made it abundantly clear that she’s waiting for my mate to let her know if I’m a good person or not.”

“ that’s only because all of the grown male examples she’s ever known herself have been extremely toxic.”

Ethan toned in. “ it’s going to be up to us to show her that we’re not like them. That it’s possible to be a pack and …”

“ and a true family.”

“ That we’re in this for the long haul. And we’re not giving up,or going to abandon her. But as the Alpha it’s still my responsibility to review this evidence.”

A small alert went off on Stefan’s laptop. Ethan asked what was happening. “ we left a live feed recording on at the cabin. Apparently the forest is not only still, very active, but somehow it is convincing anyone that Nonna doesn’t trust, that Nia is still in the cabin. Therefore that’s where the attacks are being focused.”

“ Are you trying tell me the forest is actively working to protect Nia and the cubs?”

“ I’m not trying to say it, I’m outright telling you the blessed forest is protecting anyone that Nia considers part of her personal pack.”

“Goddess, no one should ever have to die that way! We need to end this as soon as possible.”

They all watched Stefan as he turned pale, then green and finally closing the laptop to put his head between his legs to breathe deeply.

Ivan himself got up to rub his back in comfort and ask “ what did you see Stef?”

He looked up through his lashes and shook his head no. “ please. Leave that one for the council sir. I can’t believe anyone with a shred of humanity would force children to publicly watch that!”

“ right . Now Ethan it’s your team so I will leave it to you to make the decision on who to take,or leave. But there are a few conditions.”

“ I’m listening Alpha.”

“ you need to leave two of you behind to keep the girls stable, this one is a requirement straight from Somnia. Bring Otis back here, alive so she can see him herself.”

Ethan and Mikolai stood up outraged. “ you want us to give that monster direct access to her!”

“ I don’t like it anymore than you do. But she is asking for access to him. She said the Goddess has a gift for him. And I think if we want her to trust us, the least we can do is return the favor. But make no mistake, he will by no means be left alone with any of my girls at any point in time!”

Icor finally returned to the hospital room, looking refreshed and invigorated. He placed his hand on Ivan’s shoulder briefly and Ivan felt a jolt of energy breeze through him. “ A gift from me to you. I could have given it directly to her, but this way is better. Now when she receives the energy it will be infused with a father’s love.”

“ thank you Icor, you didn’t have to contribute to the pack link like this. It’s an honor to have this gift from you for my cubs.”

“ yes I did. I don’t know if you’ve seen the first recordings of when she blessed the forest around my beloved’s cabin grounds. But she asked for nothing for herself despite her being the target of attack, but only for my love and her cubs.

There is no more pure type of love and devotion.

Despite her being completely deserving. She never seems out for anything for herself, to the point that she is convinced that she herself doesn’t deserve the Goddesses gifts. Or even love and devotion for herself. That is untrue. The fact that she loves and cares so deeply for others forces my heart to love her as well. If at any time in future you need my help, you have not just my loyalty, but my entire clan as well.”

“ Even my father didn’t have the pledge of the entire dragon clan!”

“ Look.” He lifted his shoulder length hair up and showed Ivan what at first glance looks like a small multicolored tattoo. But upon further inspection was actually an eye but more accurately a replica of Somnia’ s eye on top of delicate set of wings.

“How did you get a family mark?!”

“ I got it the moment she marked my beloved with the same. And in fact it is what woke me from my whey sleep. So welcome to the dragon clan brother! Wonders never cease no!”

Chapter 26

At the end of the conference they decided that Ethan and Alexander would go to blood tooth and Stefan and Miko would stay.

Anna made the plea that she could go seeing as she is still the packs leading doctor. But both Ivan and Ethan were concerned that it may be too much for her to see her best friend in such a frightening state after so long , seeing as Elana is still her best friend. Plus, she knows far more about child birth than Alex, and he made the plea that she was the only person who he could trust to deliver his cubs safely.

The group took two private jets and entered the pack on the guise of acquiring new employees for a business where they had just done massive layoffs due to unsatisfying customer service.

Once they were inside the pack house and inspection on goods were made the entire narrative changed and their agent’s moved in and swiftly cleaned up.

The pack was far worse than anything else they had ever seen, and they could tell that they were going to have to ship over many doctors to help care for the massive amount of mental and physical therapy for these men, women and children.

The queen was found exactly where Somnia said she was. They would never have been able to find her where she was hidden without Nia’s help.

Elana Kingsley was in a horrible physical state herself, she was emaciated from lack of food , badly beaten , but the hardest part was seeing the once vibrant light in her eyes fading from all of the horrible acts she had been forced to witness over the years . But the worse part was that the Alpha didn’t see fit to remove Sasha’s body. She was left right where she past away as punishment for Elana helping her other daughter to escape.

What was left of her was delicately packed away in order to have a proper funeral on family pack lands. She would finally be treated like the princess she was.

Otis of course was caught by the team surprisingly easy attempting to flee on his private jet like the coward he is. Being served a twenty ounce steak and champagne while he pack starves to death.

Once they caught him he threw wave after wave of men to fight for him ,but never so much as threw one punch himself. In fact he whined and complained about his rough treatment so much, Alex took it upon himself to sedate him just to shut him up much to everyone’s delight.

Ivan was elated to hear that Elana had been found and was on her way home where she belongs.

Something about the entire operation didn’t quite sit right in either brother’s bellies. But they brushed it off, just happy that they were able to finally do something to make their bears and their Alpha happy all in one fell swoop.

And in just hours they will be able to reunite with their gorgeous mate and cubs
