Chapter 22

The Alpha and Beta showed up to the border just in time to see Finius transform back into a teenage boy, and gently pick up a young toddler while cradling Nia’s head in his lap. The boy took off his shirt and drenched it in water from his canteen and gently placed it on top of his friends forehead then took the rest of the water and slowly started to feed it to the sleeping infant. He never looked up but the alpha could tell he was speaking to him.

“Respectfully alpha, you have s**t patrols. I brought my friend, and my mate to you looking for help. She doesn’t think I would notice, but having known my Papa, I think you might just be hers. I promised her that Father’s care for their kids, that you would help us. I was wrong. We should have stayed away from everyone else, we could have found another way to save her Mom. Wake up Somnia. Nia, please, wake up the Alpha is here, and I don’t know what to do now. Goddess your so much worse than before! These babies are coming out soon!

“My cub is having a baby?!”

“ No. Your cub has one baby.’ He kiss Amber’s hair. “ That just so happens to also be my mate. And she’s bout to birth two more. If I can just keep her alive long enough!

“ good job beta.”

All the attention snapped down to the weak voice laying down in the grass.” We need to speak, hey you, other beta. Come loser, let me see you.”

Bartek felt compelled to get within her eyesight, and did as she asked. The moment he saw her eyes any questions he had about who she might be died on his tongue and he knew, he would do anything within his power to not only keep this cub alive, but he also knew that she needed a doctor. In fact she looked so sick he wasn’t sure how she was even able to speak to him.

“ huh, sturdy heart. You’ll do.”

“ thank you little Alpha.”

“ Jacob? Yes Nia!?”

“ When we are done here train with this beta.”

“ when we’re done here why can’t we move on like you wanted to?”

“ when I birth my cub’ s, and Mom is safe. I think… I think, maybe I’ll go visit Sissy Sasha, and I don’t want to leave my pack with no protection.”

“ no don’t say that! I told you, your all I have! No Mom, no Dad I was all alone till I met you!’

“ I’m so sorry friend. Your my first friend too! Mommy told me tales of what friends was but I never had one. Till I met my dear squish heart. If you truly don’t want him Nonna will take you in. She is pack too.”

“ Nia stop talking your breathing feels off!”

“just need a nap. Tell Papa alpha he can come through the bubble for a while. We need to talk.”

“ Alpha! She says you can go through the bubble for a moment.”

Ivan immediately moved to Somnia s side “ My cub your so beautiful! Is it ok if I touch you, I mean hold just hold you for a bit? Please? It’s all I’ve wanted for sixteen years! I’ve never stopped searching for you and your mom please?!

She looked deep into his eyes searching for any trace of deception and found none. Plus she already knew that it would be necessary to continue their conversation with her body weakening so quickly. So she nods a weak little yes. He wasted no time ever so gently with shaking hands, took her off of Jacob’s lap onto his own, as though she were just a little baby girl. Of course in his mind, she is still a baby, his baby. So he took the ends of his shirt, and wiped the blood off of her face.

“ Hello Somnia. My name’s Ivan and I’m your Daddy, and I love you so, so much!

“ hi Papa. We have something to tell you.”

“ we?”

Jacob yells” Nia please don’t !”

“ it’s okay friend Jacob. We won’t be using her human half for this have faith.”

She looked at the tears streaming down her friends face “ beta two please help him.

Bartek joined them in the bubble, and did exactly what he knew the young man needed, he gathered him in his arms and gave him a family hug .

“ now Papa, I need you to pay attention to your leopard it’s too much for your human brain to handle , but Papa Magnus knows how to explain. By the way, our names are Snow and Iris.

She reached up and gripped his wrist with a strength she should not have had at this point and threw him into the backseat of his own mind then proceeded to show Magnus her memories.

He was forced to watch through his daughter’s eyes as the alpha awoke his daughter that morning with a huge punch to the throat, then got angry because she couldn’t get up fast enough to kiss his feet and say thank you for the wake up call with the hand he was stepping on.

So he dragged Sasha and Somnia together by the hair, and forced Nia to watch her pregnant sister to be beaten in front of her while she was being violated by the alpha and told how he knew that she was loved the extra time with him. And that the Alpha was the only one allowed to breed them before throwing them back into their cell.

He was then seeing his oldest daughter go into preterm labor because of the beatings, and suddenly his heart stopped beating when he saw his mate in chains, beaten, malnourished, and chained just out of reach of touching their Cubs. But still, as the mother and queen she was, he watched as she used sign language to direct Nia into birthing her little niece into the world.

He watched as Nia came to the realization that her other half was taking her last breaths so she hurriedly showed her, her babies face. And was thrown forward by her leopard so her and her sister were touching foreheads.

Ivan watched in rapt amazement as his daughter’s beasts transferred into Nia’s body as well as her ability to nurse and give a full mother’s care to little Amber.

Then just a minute later he saw as his beautiful wife shoved a small homemade satchel into his daughter’s hands and told her to run with the baby and directed her towards his pack.

He came back to reality with jolt and squeezed his child tighter. He didn’t even take note of the tears falling out of his eyes. He didn’t know what to feel ,but he did come to realize that he hadn’t been the only one suffering all this time.

He was brought out of his thoughts abruptly by his daughter’s duel voices. “ Blood tooth pack. My mom wants to come home now. It was never meant for you to find us, we had to come to you. Find my Mommy in the under dungeon and bring her home. If Mom says you are a good man. Then I will believe her. But if you make Mom a concubine, I’ll wipe out your pack myself. I’m used to being alone. Don’t think you being my papa will hold me back. I’m not afraid to go spend time with sissy, I was built to protect. And I’ve spent my entire life alone.

Ivan saw the raw truth in his daughter’s eyes. He looked, really looked at her. Not who she used to be to him but the girl in the memories, the girl forced to be a mother on the run. The girl who in a single moment was thrusted into becoming an alpha, an adult, and a queen all in the same moments . Her body weakened and littered with scars .

“ my sweet cub. I swear I will bring your mother home . That’s been my goal since before you were born. And when I do , I’m going to finally force you to be the one thing you haven’t been allowed to be, loved.

She looked at him like he was telling her a fairytale,. But he meant what he said, every single word. He had a secondary thought that should have been his first. “ Beta.’

“ yes alpha.”

“ Why has my daughter not been treated by the pack doctor yet?

“I just linked her sir she was caught up in a serious surgery, but she’s on her way right now.”

Just like that Nia ‘s voice was back “Jacob?”

“ yeah Nia?”

“ what’s a doctor?”

“ You remember when I said you needed more help than I could give.”

“uhm.”

“ well a doctor is a person that is trained to either heal her body or sometimes your mind when you’re hurt.”

“ Don’t like being touched. Oh no!’ she cried as her back arched in pain. Her father rubbed her belly in a futile effort to give her some pain relief and strength. “ baby, why aren’t you taking any of the strength I’m offering, you need it so badly please take it.”

“ I’m not selfish. Alpha’s always taking, but never give back. My pack is different.”

“ oh sweet goddess is that what you’ve been doing? No wonder your so sick ! Where’s the “Doctor?”

“I’m here, Alpha.”

“ Thank Goodness “Anna!”

At that same moment, an expensive motorcycle pulled up alongside a fleet of Hummers.

“Nonna! You found me!”

Chapter 23

Granny walks over and straight through the bubble no trouble at all.

“ Hello my sweet girl! I see you found your father, just as I thought you would. And look, you made a friend too!

“ Irene Ricci? Is that you?”

“ hello Ivan. Nice to meet you again.”

“ you know my Papa?”

“ I used to work for his father love. I knew him before he was an alpha. He used to be so lanky. All arms and neck!”

That brought up a weak giggle from her. “That’s funny . Wanna meet Jacob? He’s Amber’s mate!”

“ oh my but that is special indeed! Hello Jacob it’s lovely to meet you!”

“ Hello ma’am .”

“ that’s Granny or Nonna for you.”

“ thank you , Nonna.’ He said with a slight blush.”

“ Adorable!”

“ Granny, if squish heart doesn’t like it here, can he and Amber eyes stay with you?”

“ Of course!”

Bartek spoke up for the first time in a while. Wait, you just asked me to train him! I already like him ,and I’m attached to Amber as well! For heavens sake she’s my family too!”

“ If you like them that much then you can follow him too. It’s his choice not yours!”

Ivan watched with pride in his eyes. “ spoken like a true alpha.”

“ I’m sorry to interrupt but we would desperately love to introduce ourselves!”

“ is that my mate speaking to me Nonna?”

“ oh my dear you have four of them!”

“ Are they here to reject me?”

“ Never! We will never reject you!”

“ your better off without me. Your really getting a bad deal in me.”

She started having another coughing fit that led to her vomiting more blood. Everyone around her was horrified by just how sick she was becoming.

Alexander started begging her from where he was standing “ please darling we’ve already accepted you we can’t lose you! I’m Alexander and I’m a doctor, we can help you if you let us in ! Anna is also Bartek’s mate and she’s a doctor too. Baby girl please!”

“ My daughter as an alpha one of the things I had to learn, was that I build up the pack, but the pack maintains me as well. Look at poor Amber, she’s so sick cause you won’t take anything from me, or Nonna. And now your mates! Plus if you die the twins die! If you still don’t believe me then search my memories and see for yourself!”

It distressed Nia a great deal to see her friends so sad. It made her feel like a failure as a friend, and a mother. But she had to know for sure before taking anything away from her friends, so she asked Snow and Iris to take a peek.

Ivan didn’t wait for herb to raise her hand, he took his own hand and delicately connected their hands together. “okay squish heart. Your mates death would really hurt you. Mates , come here, plus beta mate. They all but ran in.

“Papa…I need to see Otis before you punish him. We have a special gift we’ve been saving just for him. Be super careful, he has a witch . That’s how he keeps momma chained up.”

She glanced at Nonna with tears in her eyes looking around at her mates. “ Nonna? Do you think father will let me keep them till my cubs are born? Do you think… do you think they will let me touch them one time? Just once, or Am I too nasty for them? If I am , I’m okay with just looking at them instead. “ The last part came out as a whisper .

Ivan was still gently stroking her hair. Unable to get over how beautiful his cub was even in sickness she was easily the most beautiful woman in his world, aside from his mate of course. Then it registered what she had just asked. “ why would I ever make you give up your mates baby?”

“ Everyone has too. Always, unless you’re the Alpha. My pack is different, but they’re your pack.

“ baby that’s not normal for any pack to practice. In fact it’s against the law in every pack. Pack members are encouraged to keep their mates, and try to work through the reasons they wanted to reject each other. A pack is always stronger with it’s Goddess given pairs. I promise.”

Ethan felt compelled to pipe up. “ honey, why would you call yourself nasty? I don’t ever again want to hear you call yourself that you are clean, and strong , far stronger than me . Miko? Do you think our mate is nasty?”

“ impossible. I think she meant to say refreshing. What do you think Stefan?

“ I’m fairly sure that she was trying to say unique, maybe perfect? What did you hear Alexander? Hear, I didn’t hear anything what I know is that there is no force in this universe that could force me to give up on my mate bond, and as far as touching, I can speak for all of us when I say our bodies belong to you, and you alone, for as long as you’ll have us. Our bodies, our strength and our hearts! Cause I know I can’t wait to touch you! “

“ that’s my daughter you’re talking about. Enforcer!”

“ Sorry. Not sorry Alpha.”

“ But speaking of touching my love, me and Anna are going to have to touch you in order to take you to the pack hospital, as soon as possible.”

“ what’s a hospital?”

Alex was stunned by the question. So Anna took over the answer. “ A hospital is a building where everything stays nice and clean, so we can heal you properly whenever a person gets sick or injured . We can watch over you safely until you get well enough to go home and care for yourself, or have a loved one take care you till your all better.”

“ Never heard of it. But it sounds nice. I will need a safe place to put this body to sleep for a while. At least till Mom gets here, and Otis gets his gift. We promise to hold the babies in as long as we can. You promise I can keep them father?”

“ I promise on my mate bond I will never force that on you!”

“ then I Somnia Kingsley accept you Ethan, Mikolai, Alexander, and Stefan as my mates for as long as you’ll want me. I need to sleep now.”

She couldn’t keep her eyes open long enough to see the smiles on everyone’s faces. Not only because the family had grown a great deal that day, but now they had a reassurance that she and all the cubs would live.

Ivan declared I’ll carry my cub to the hospital ,and then we need to have an emergency meeting. Thanks to my amazing cub I now where my mate is. And there are a few things that you need to know about the cubs she’s carrying.
