"I couldn't stay away from you any longer, Louis," she replied, her voice low. "I had to see you again." Louis felt a rush of power and control coursing through him, but at the same time, he knew he couldn't let his guard down. Louis's face turned dark. "Listen, I come to you but you don't come to me. Get it? And don't ever walk into my office like this again." Her face hardened. "You know what, Louis? I'm tired of being the other woman. If you're not willing to leave your wife for me, then...." "Then what?"said Louis, menacingly, as he walked towards her. "Be nice to me and I'll be nice to you,ok?"said Louis with a twisted smile. At this, the woman left. Louis made sure that Amelia never found out about his infidelity. He was careful not to leave any evidence behind. But for now, he would continue to be the perfect family man and keep his affair a secret.Louis sat in his study, his mind racing with the twisted secret he shared with Mary and Lizzie. He knew he couldn't keep it hidden forever, but the thought of the truth coming out terrified him. He picked up the phone and dialed Yvonne's number. She was his confidante, the only one he trusted enough to share his darkest secrets with. He needed her help now more than ever. "Yvonne, I need to talk to you," he said, his voice low and urgent. "What's going on, Louis?" Yvonne asked, concern in her voice. "I can't keep this secret any longer," Louis said, his hands shaking. "Mary and Lizzie are becoming more and more unstable, and I don't know what they're capable of." Yvonne listened in silence, waiting for Louis to continue. "I need your help to keep this under wraps," Louis said, his voice cracking with emotion. "I can't risk losing everything I've worked so hard for." Yvonne took a deep breath, trying to steady her own nerves. She knew Louis was capable of some pretty twisted things, but she had always been willing to turn a blind eye to his behavior. "What is it that you need me to do?" Yvonne asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "I need you to help me keep this secret from Amelia and the rest of the family," Louis said, desperation creeping into his tone. "I can't bear the thought of them finding out what we've done." Yvonne hesitated for a moment before nodding her head. She knew she was getting in deep, but she couldn't resist the pull of her brother's charismatic personality. "I'll do what I can," she said, her voice barely audible. Louis breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that Yvonne would always be there to support him, no matter what. But deep down, he knew that their twisted secret would never truly be safe. The truth had a way of coming out, no matter how hard you tried to bury it. And when it did, the consequences would be catastrophic. Louis had become even more secretive. There were mysterious packages arriving at odd hours of the night, and his phone calls became more frequent and cryptic. Amelia knew she had to do something. To avoid Louis getting suspicious, Amelia used the guise of Cole's fifth birthday party to invite her friends and family over. She knew that visiting them one by one would be a bad idea, as Louis would surely notice. She confided in her closest friends and family and explained how worried she was about Louis's behavior. They all agreed to help her find a detective. After weeks of searching, they found Detective Conan O'Brien. He was a tall and well-built man, standing at 6'3". He has short, neatly trimmed brown hair with touches of gray at the temples and piercing gray eyes that seem to penetrate through any facade. He has a rugged and weathered face, with sharp features, a strong jawline, and a scar above his right eyebrow, which he got during his time as a soldier in World War II. Detective O'Brien prefers wearing suits, with a fedora hat on his head, giving him a classic and professional look. He is a tough, no-nonsense private detective who has seen it all. He is a man of few words but when he speaks, his words carry weight. He has a sharp and analytical mind, able to piece together clues and connect the dots that others might miss. He is also fiercely independent and prefers working alone. His experience as a soldier has given him a certain discipline and sense of duty, and he takes his job as a detective very seriously. Despite his gruff exterior, he has a soft spot for the underdog and will always fight for justice, even if it means going against the odds. They arranged for Amelia to meet Detective O'Brien, but they had to be careful. Louis was becoming very possessive and controlling after the birthday party. So, they couldn't let him know what they were up to. As the sound of Louis's car engine faded in the distance, Amelia's heart raced with anticipation. She darted to the front door, where Andrew or Brian would be waiting, concealed by the morning fog. A quick exchange of letters would ensue, Amelia's hands trembling with fear of being caught by Louis. It was their only means of communication, a secret bond of trust that united them against a common foe. They knew that Louis's wrath was unpredictable and dangerous, but they were willing to take the risk to ensure Amelia's safety. As they parted ways, a sense of relief washed over them, knowing that they had taken another step towards uncovering the truth behind Louis's mysterious actions. One day, Amelia told Louis that she thought there was something wrong with little Cole and that she needed to take him to the doctor's. Louis agreed to this and dropped them off at the hospital in his Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible with sleek lines and a powerful v8 engine with an aerodynamic body. Louis was clearly proud of it. Amelia gets out of the car with Cole, and Louis drives off. She can't help but feel a knot in her stomach, knowing that this could be the last time she sees him as her loving husband. She quickly gets into a cab and makes her way to Suzanne's apartment, where Conan O'Brien is waiting for her. She got out of the cab and quickly made her way up the stairs to Suzanne's apartment. She knocked on the door and Suzanne answered. "Amelia, come in. Conan is waiting for you in the living room." Amelia followed Suzanne into the living room where Detective O'Brien was sitting on the couch, a notepad in his hand. "Mrs. Knight, please have a seat," Conan said, gesturing to the armchair opposite him. Amelia sat down, her heart racing. She couldn't believe she was actually doing this. "Tell me everything you know about your husband's activities," Conan said, his voice serious. Amelia took a deep breath and began to recount everything that had been happening. The strange phone calls, the mysterious packages, the odd behavior. She even told him about the love letters she found in the study. Conan listened intently, scribbling notes on his notepad. "I think we need to dig deeper into Louis's past. There might be something there that could explain his recent behavior," Conan said, his eyes glinting with determination. Amelia nodded, grateful for his help. "I also think we need to keep this between us for now. The less Louis knows, the better," Conan added. Amelia agreed and thanked him for his discretion. As she left Suzanne's apartment and made her way back to the hospital, she couldn't shake the feeling of fear that had settled in the pit of her stomach. She knew that Louis had a twisted mind, and she didn't know what he was capable of. But she had Detective Conan O'Brien on her side now, and she felt a glimmer of hope. Little did she know, Louis was already one step ahead. As he drove away from the hospital, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. He knew Amelia too well, and he knew that her sudden concern for Cole was out of character. He made a mental note to keep a closer eye on her and to find out what she was up to.
