The next morning came bright and peaceful. Savannah woke up early and got ready. She didn’t take much time. Just a few clothes, baby things, and her small bag. She looked around the apartment one last time and smiled.
“This place gave us shelter,” she said softly, rubbing her belly. “But now we’re moving to a new home.”
Not long after, she heard a car horn outside. Her heart jumped a little. She knew it was Adrian.
She walked out slowly, holding her small bag. Adrian was standing by the car, dressed neatly as always. He smiled when he saw her.
“Good morning, Savannah.”
“Good morning,” she said shyly.
He took the bag from her hand and placed it in the back seat. “You didn’t carry much,” he said.
“I don’t have much,” she replied, smiling softly.
