CHAPTER SIX “When you told me it was broken,” Ray said, “I didn’t know you meant totally smashed.” Harley crossed her arms and waited as Ray turned the GPS tracker in his hand, a skeptical look on his face. They were in the bedroom of Ray’s house, where he lived with his grandmother and too many cousins to count. The cousins were playing outside, but Nani was out in the kitchen, banging pots and otherwise making sure they knew she was still around. She seemed to think it was her personal duty to make sure her guests were comfortable, regardless of how many times they said they were fine. Personally, Harley would have preferred to have this meeting in the Santa Fe field office. Since Ray wasn’t technically on the clock, however, it seemed unfair to ask him to make the twenty-minute drive
