Naturally, Rodrigo did no such thing. Begging was not his style. If he did, then he would not be Rodrigo, the proud man that I knew—or at least thought I knew. I would never have thought that he would act in the way he had, sending somebody to get me after allowing me to leave in the first place. It was as if he had decided to get rid of all his honor, everything he had left, in an instant.
Even if he still had any honor left, to me at that moment, I despised him. I hated him even more, knowing that he wanted to get me still back to use me for his purposes after the man left.
