" Mrs. Smith, I apologize, but I don't understand what my father could have left me. Over twenty years ago when he left my mother and I, he had nothing to his name." Melissa replied turning her back on the lawyer leading her back to the corner booth she once occupied alone. Once seated across from Melissa in the back corner booth away from the other patrons of the diner, Mrs. Smith pulled out a stack of papers artfully arranged inside of a folder, placing them on the table. Opening the folder Mrs. Smith removed a copy of the living will her client had signed years prior to his death and never updated it, along with a copy of bank statements that were given to her throughout the years.
