Even the lifeless objects are alive if carved with love.

Skylar's P.O.V
A new day always brings new hopes, a new spirit is ignited within yourself. As soon as I woke up in the morning, I felt happy due to some strange reason, a wave of inner peace was surrounding me embracing me within its smooth arms. It felt as if someone has transferred this soothing feeling within me via some invisible string. Yesterday's events flashed in front of my eyes, how I woke up with a puzzled look, got to know about my erased memories, became unconscious again due to a weird burning sensation in the neck, the moon, and blurry silhouettes embosoming each other emerging in front of me, how I tried to cheer up myself for my family and how an unusual internal connection showered me with harmony and contentment. It felt as if the missing part of my life proliferates its light within the wickedness of my brain. Those benevolent touches of some internal link weren't my illusion, I'm sure there's something hiding deep within my brain and I'm not able to reach there as if some invisible force is stopping my movement.
I sighed and filled my brain with positive vibes because I have decided that I won't act like a victim anymore. I will get my memories back sooner or later till then I will enjoy every moment of my life with my family and friends. Speaking of friends, I remember today I'm meeting Ashley. She called me yesterday and literally cried while explaining to me how much she missed me when I went missing so I promised her that I will meet her today. She is my best friend since high school, we both are partners in crime and always act as each other's support. She's the only friend with whom I can share everything and I don't need a filter in front of her, I can speak whatever I think without modifying my words and she won't mind at all. I wonder how I managed to spend two freaking years without her. I'm having a long day ahead because I know Ashley will force me into endless shopping being the shopping freak she is. Buck up yourself Skylar, she won't show any mercy towards me.
I immediately got up and took a long shower before dressing up into white off-shoulder crop top and denim jeans, I applied minimal makeup, wore my sneakers and tied my hairs in a ponytail. I checked my look in the mirror and took my handbag before leaving the room. I heard mom calling my name, I immediately went inside the dining room and found dad and Danny sitting there while my mom was arranging the breakfast on the table.
"Here comes our princess." My dad spoke cheerfully. I smiled at him and greeted everyone before sitting beside Danny who looked at me suspiciously, "Are you going somewhere, baby girl?" He asked while eyeing my handbag. "Yeah! I'm going out with Ashley, she wanted to spend some time with me today."
"You aren't going anywhere alone baby girl?", Danny told me sternly making me frown in confusion. "And why can't I go? I just want to spend some time with my friend after two freaking years." Danny sighed and shook his head. "Why don't you understand Sky you were missing for two years and we don't even know what happened during that time. It's unsafe for you to roam around freely."
"Danny, I'm trying to move on and I can't trap myself into these four walls just because of that incident." I was somewhere annoyed with my brother's protectiveness but I know very well what my family has gone through during my absence. My sudden disappearance has made them overprotective and I don't blame them for this.
"I understand Sky but I won't compromise your safety." His tone held no room for argument, I gazed at my mother who raised her hands in surrender. I pouted and looked at my dad who seems to be analyzing mine and Daniel's argument. I blink my eyelashes at him and he sighed in defeat, Victory. I know how to melt my dad's heart. "I think Sky should go out, she also needs some fun in her life." He finally spoke while I did a victory dance in my head. "But dad..." Dad cuts off Danny and continued his talk, "I understand your concern Danny but her mind also needs some distraction from all this mess and we can't trap her within our house forever. Sky you can go out but Danny will pick and drop you and you have to be in Ashley's company throughout the day, don't go anywhere alone." His tone held a finality.
"Fine dad, I will follow all your instructions." I smiled at him as he always understands me more than anyone else. "All issues are resolved, now have your breakfast," Mom spoke and filled my plate with pancaked smeared in maple syrup making me drool over my favorite dish. As I was shoving pancakes into my mouth, I glanced at Danny who seems to be upset over dad's decision. I pinched his cheeks while he glared at me, sticking my tongue out, I tickled him making him laugh uncontrollably. Mom and dad were looking at us in amusement, I hugged Danny and said in a babyish tone, "You are the best brother in the world." He chuckled at my antics, "That's because I have the best sister in the world."
After having breakfast, I and Danny were about to leave when a servant came inside the house holding something into his hand. "What's that Stephan?" Danny asked him while he hands over the thing to Danny which seems to be a chain with a locket.
"Does this belong to you Sky?" He showed me the pendant and I was attracted to the mesmerizing creation, strangely it felt familiar. I took it from his hand and caressed the locket tenderly, the gold pendant was in the shape of a crescent moon with stars filling the cavity of the moon, a howling wolf's head emerged from the center of the moon. Believe me, I felt as if some power is radiating through this pendant. As soon as my skin made contact with the necklace, a series of sparks shot within my body. The locket felt familiar, don't know why but I seriously felt associated with it as if it belongs to me. I can't ignore how safe I felt with a mere object, it gave me assurance that it will be my ally throughout my journey. Can you feel this type of attachment with a mere object? Of course not and if I'm getting these positive vibes through this locket then I won't keep it away from me. It seems as if my brain has become protective regarding this pendant and doesn't want me to separate it from myself. Call me mad or something but I honestly think that I'm linked with this pendant in some weird way.
"Where are you lost Sky?" Danny's voice broke my train of thought. "Nothing Danny, I feel as if this locket belongs to me," I answered still gazing the necklace. "Then what are you thinking Sky? if it belongs to you then take it." Danny rolls his eyes while I pout at him making him giggle. "Where did you find this Stephan?" I honestly want to know every little detail regarding this familiar necklace. "In the garden mam, where we found you yesterday." He answered.
I think this necklace belongs to me, I have a gut feeling but I don't remember purchasing it or maybe its a gift. There is some sort of history attached to this necklace and I will find it out someday. I wrapped the locket around my neck and made my way out along with Danny.
After some time, we finally reached the mall and Danny stopped me when I was about to open the door. "Remember dad's instructions Sky and don't do anything impulsive." He kissed my forehead and smiled at me. "Trust me, Danny I will be safe." I smiled at him and caressed the pendant which felt warm against my skin, don't know if I'm imagining or what but I truly feel as if this pendant is acting as a shield between me and any upcoming danger. I shook away my strange thoughts and got out of the car, Danny drove away from there after saying goodbye to me.
My eyes landed on Ashley who was standing at the entrance waiting for me, I immediately made my way towards her with a big goofy smile plastered on my face. As soon as her gaze landed on me she ran towards me and engulfed me into a tight hug and when I said tight then you should understand, she was squeezing the life out of me.
"Jeez you are finally here Sky, you know how much I missed you girl. Thank god you are fine, I was searching for you for two years. You know how much I regret not accompanying you during that unfortunate day." She was blabbering continuously still hugging me tightly, I caressed her back for calming her down.
"Even I missed you, Ashley but you need to break the hug I'm feeling suffocated." She broke the hug and smacked my arm. "Bitch." She spoke and I burst into laughter.
"Sky, where were you during the last two years?" She asked with concern. "Ash, I don't want to think about this now. I will tell you everything but first I want to enjoy this day with you."
"No problem babe, let's start with shopping." She said enthusiastically while I rolled my eyes at her excitement. "Long day Skylar," I muttered under my breath while she scowls at me, "I heard that Sky, you are too bad." She pouts while I laugh at her. "Come on cry baby let's go." I teased her while she pouts again. "You are cry baby, not me." She knits her eyebrows together, I laugh at her antics and hug her again. "I don't know how I managed to live without you for two years." She hugs me again and spoke, "I was so worried Sky, please don't disappear again." We broke the hug and went inside the clothing store.
As expected, we had a tiring day especially me as Ashley was jumping like an excited electron from one store to another buying god knows unlimited stuff while I on the other side wanted to feed my empty stomach. "One last store Sky, after that we will go to the food court." She looked at me with pleading eyes while I pout. "I'm hungry Ash, I'm going to the food court, you finish your shopping then join me there." She rolls her eyes and raises her hands up in surrender. "Let's go to the food court. Happy?" I laugh at her irritated face and we moved towards the food court.
After ordering our food, we sat beside each other and don't know why I felt as if someone's watching me. I turned around trying to find some clue. What the hell is wrong with me? Ever since I woke up, I'm encountering weird things. I caressed my pendant as if it held some answers to my questions. My eyes were wandering around but there wasn't anything suspicious. My mind was playing games with me. Ashley saw my distress and patted my shoulder. "Are you fine? Is anything wrong?" Ashley asked me when she sensed that I was worried regarding something.
I sighed, "I'm feeling as if someone is watching me, Ash". She looked around but there was nothing mysterious, it was my gut feeling that someone was keeping a check on me. "Babe, what happened when you were away?" She asked me with curiosity.
I narrated her everything that occurred yesterday while she became shocked after listening to my story. "So, you are telling me that your memories of two years have been erased and you don't have any clue regarding your past."
"Yes and on top of that I'm feeling these weird sensations, suddenly I'm happy then I become sad, sometimes my mind is stressed while sometimes I get a soothing sensation of peace. I don't know what's happening with me but I know one thing, these all incidents are connected with my lost memories. If I need to get clarity regarding my messed up life then I need to reconnect myself with the missing part of my life. How I will do this? Even I don't know."
"First of all stop stressing over everything and calm down. Everything will be fine, just relax dude." She smiles at me while I heaved a sigh and followed her advice. We both talked, teased, laughed with each other filling the gap of two years.
All I need was a distraction for clearing up my mind but at the end of the day, I won't be able to escape the clutches of my messed up brain and endless thought process.

We need a distraction for pausing our thought process that messes with our brain for some time.
