The seven pillars of light pierced the heavens.
Every supernatural creature in the world felt them.
The age of hiding was over.
⸻
Romania
Deep beneath the Carpathian Mountains, an ancient fortress buried under ice for nine centuries awakened.
The frozen gates cracked open.
Inside, thousands of vampire warriors opened crimson eyes.
They rose from marble coffins in perfect silence.
An old general stepped forward.
His armor was stained with blood that had never dried.
He looked toward Prague.
“The Queen lives.”
Every warrior dropped to one knee.
⸻
Scotland
On a forgotten island hidden by perpetual storms, a ruined castle rebuilt itself stone by stone.
Massive wolves emerged from the surrounding forest.
They were larger than horses.
Their silver eyes reflected the moon.
An elderly woman carrying a staff carved from white oak smiled.
“The Moon has chosen again.”
The witches bowed.
⸻
Egypt
Far beneath the shifting sands, a temple older than the pyramids awakened.
Ancient symbols ignited along its walls.
Stone guardians opened glowing emerald eyes.
A woman wrapped in black linen stepped from a golden sarcophagus.
Her face was hidden beneath a veil of silver.
She whispered only one sentence.
“Our Queen remembers.”
⸻
Japan
High atop a mountain untouched by time, seven stone foxes came to life.
Cherry blossoms bloomed despite the season.
A shrine sealed since the first century opened its doors.
Inside, a white-haired swordsman opened his eyes.
“The war begins again.”
⸻
Iceland
Beneath a glacier, imprisoned dragons roared.
The ice shattered.
Fire met snow.
The oldest dragon stretched wings that had not opened for a thousand years.
It looked toward Europe.
Then bowed its enormous head.
⸻
Brazil
Deep within the sss rainforest…
The trees moved.
Not from wind.
From something walking beneath them.
The forest itself awakened.
Ancient spirits returned to protect their forgotten queen.
⸻
Prague
Luna watched the seven lights stretch across the horizon.
“What are they?”
Kael stepped beside her.
“The Seven Thrones.”
“I don’t understand.”
“They were kingdoms.”
“Were?”
“They fell the night the First Queen died.”
Lucien corrected him.
“They were destroyed.”
Luna turned.
“By whom?”
Neither man answered.
Instead…
Seraphina’s spirit appeared beside Luna once more.
“I destroyed them.”
Luna’s heart stopped.
“You what?”
“They followed me into the final battle.”
“They trusted me.”
“They died because of me.”
Tears filled Seraphina’s eyes.
“I swore no queen would ever remember that night.”
Luna gently took her hand.
“It wasn’t your fault.”
“No.”
Seraphina looked toward the eclipse.
“It was mine.”
⸻
A scream echoed across Prague.
Everyone looked toward the city.
The shadows were moving.
Not metaphorically.
Literally.
Darkness peeled itself away from buildings.
People’s shadows detached from the ground.
One by one…
They stood.
Hundreds.
Thousands.
Featureless black figures with glowing silver eyes.
The citizens ran in terror.
The Shadow King smiled.
“My first army.”
Kael immediately transformed into his wolf form.
“We have to protect the city.”
Alaric nodded.
“My warriors!”
Thousands of werewolves shifted at once.
The streets thundered beneath pounding paws.
Lucien turned toward his vampire soldiers.
“The innocent come first.”
Every vampire vanished into the darkness.
For the first time in history…
Vampires and werewolves fought side by side.
Luna watched in disbelief.
“They’re working together.”
Lucien smiled faintly.
“They always did.”
She looked at him.
“I thought they hated each other.”
“That’s what history says.”
“And history lies.”
A deafening explosion interrupted them.
The cathedral shook violently.
The Shadow King rose into the air, black wings spreading across the eclipse.
“You cannot save them all.”
His voice echoed across Prague.
“Choose, Moon Queen.”
He raised one hand.
Three enormous portals opened above the city.
In the first—
A hospital.
Filled with terrified families.
In the second—
The Charles Bridge, where hundreds of people were trapped.
In the third—
Professor Marek.
Alive.
Bound in silver chains inside a collapsing underground chamber.
Luna gasped.
“Professor…”
She had believed he was dead.
The Shadow King’s smile widened.
“You may save only one.”
Silence fell.
Kael looked toward the hospital.
“Children.”
Alaric looked toward the bridge.
“There are hundreds.”
Lucien stared at the third portal.
“He was the first human to protect you.”
Luna’s breathing quickened.
Three choices.
One life.
Hundreds of lives.
Or the man who had become like a father to her.
The Shadow King laughed.
“Go ahead.”
“Be a queen.”
“Make your first impossible decision.”
Luna closed her eyes.
Then…
The Moon Crown began to shine brighter than ever before.
When she opened them again…
Both eyes were silver.
And a calm smile crossed her face.
“No.”
The Shadow King frowned.
“No?”
“I refuse your choice.”
“There is no other choice.”
Luna lifted one hand toward the sky.
“There is now.”
Moonlight erupted from the crown in a blinding column that split into three streams, racing toward all three portals at once.
Kael looked up in disbelief.
Lucien’s eyes widened.
Even Seraphina whispered,
“She… changed the spell.”
The Shadow King’s confident smile finally disappeared.
For the first time since his return…
He realized something terrifying.
Luna wasn’t becoming Seraphina.
She was becoming something entirely new.
A Moon Queen no prophecy had ever foreseen.
