I stared at Blake. “What aren't you telling me?” He didn't answer. Instead, he looked away. “Blake.” “Let's go home.” I frowned. “That's not an answer.” “I know.” “Then give me one.” He sighed. “It's complicated.” I folded my arms. “Everyone in your family loves saying that.” A small smile appeared on his face. “Maybe because you ask too many questions.” “And maybe you give too few answers.” He laughed softly. For a moment, the tension disappeared. Then he reached for his car keys. “Come on.” “Where?” “Home.” I followed him, still annoyed. But secretly, I was relieved. Whatever he was hiding could wait.
