CHAPTER TWO.
ALPHA KILLIAN?
Aria's POV.
"Come with me." Alpha Killian stretched his hand towards me and I wondered if he was insane.
He just murdered my family and he thought I would go with him?
Despite my trembling legs, I still struggled to stand up and the side of his lips curled into a smirk as I took further steps away from him.
I watched my mum, Dad and Alex laying on the ground in their pool of blood and tears stung my eyes, my heart tightening in pain.
"Why? What did they do wrong?" I found myself screaming and Alpha Killian roared into another laughter like I had just made a joke. I dug my nails into my palm, anger burning through my veins.
'What a monster! I couldn't believe I once...' I sealed the rest of the thoughts away, the tears dropping and rolling down my cheeks.
"Don't be so sad. Besides I thought you preferred me to Jaxton, I thought you wanted me or did I see wrong?" He asked and I froze, my blood turning cold.
What did he just say? How did he know that? I never told him.
Don't tell me he read my diary, but how? I stifffened, my palms growing sweaty.
"Now come." Alpha Killian began walking towards me again. I should run but my legs remained stucked to a point as he advanced closer, his hand about to touch me.
I shut my eyes, bile rushing to my throat as I felt the urge to puke.
This bastard had no right to lay his hands on me. I was about to jump away when out of nowhere, Jaxton appeared and swung his sword at his father.
Alpha Killian's eyes widened a bit in surprise as Jaxton's sword slashed his open chest and blood began to drip.
Jaxton stood in my front and I hid behind him, wanting to get away from that monster but at the same time, a feeling of satisfaction ran through me as I watched the man bleed.
I wanted him dead. Vengeance burned in my veins as I watched my parents' lifeless eyes staring back at me.
Another sob tore out of me even though I tried to hold it back. They were just here, a minute ago, I could still feel their warm touch, lingering on my skin.
How did they end up like this? And Alex. I stared at my brother who had gone pale, due to loss of blood.
His breathing was faint, he was still alive but I knew he wasn't going to make it. I studied biology and knew Alpha Killian had pierced the critical point.
All Alex wanted was to get into Alpha's Academy and he finally did, only to have his life snatched away from him by some psycho.
"Dad, why are you doing this?" Jaxon questioned, glaring at his father as he braced himself for an attack.
"Her parents tried to go back on our deal." Alpha Killian responded and my jaw tightened.
"That still gives you no right to kill them. You just snatched her life from her." Jaxton half-yelled and I paused.
Wait! I just realized the situation now. My greatest bully, who loved seeing me in pain was protecting me now, trying to fight for me against his own father.
"I didn't." Alpha Killian shook his head sideways. "She still has me."
'This man had to be insane.' I thought watching as Jaxton clenched his hands around his sword.
"You are a beast, what does she need you for?" Jaxton roared as he swung his sword at his father again.
Unfortunately Alpha Killian predicted his move and blocked it with his sword.
"You wouldn't understand Jaxton, so butt-out or you will end up hurt." Alpha Killian warned, his red eyes darkening.
The air around immediately changed and I found myself shivering as I watched father and son engage in a battle all because of me.
I needed to take advantage of this distraction and run away as far as possible. I was about to run towards the exit when my ear caught a groan.
I paused, listening once again, realizing it was from Alex. His pain was evident.
'I couldn't leave him here, perhaps I could find a way to save him.' I thought as I turned backwards, ignoring the sound of swords clashing against one another.
Alpha Killian was obviously having the upper hand. The cut on his chest still bleeds but it didn't seem to faze him, as if it was just a scratch.
I tried holding Alex up but he suddenly felt heavier. My hand slipped and we both collapsed to the ground, he was on top. I winced in pain, feeling my hand bruise the rough floor.
I finally managed to heave him up and contemplated dashing towards the exit but felt my legs wobbling again. I couldn't move.
"You are going nowhere." I heard his dreadful voice and watched as he jumped over Jaxon to my front, pointing the sword at my brother's neck.
A shiver ran down my spine as my lips trembled.
I couldn't believe the kind man was now this monster, snatching everything away from me. The cold wind blew in and scattered his long, white hair all over his face but his red eyes still remained locked on me.
I looked back to notice Alex and I were closer to the window so if only I could just jump but before I could make any movement to my thoughts, Jaxton appeared out of nowhere, touched both me and Alex then;
"Now." He yelled and another mighty wind blew by. It was so strong that I threw my face away, closing my eyes tightly but when next I opened it, I found myself in an unknown room, Jaxton collapsed onto the floor beside me as he breathed heavily.
Alex was opposite me, totally unconscious, he was bleeding again. It seemed whatever happened, worsened his condition.
I didn't bother finding out where I was and just dashed towards him, placing my hand on his stomach and adding pressure.
"A-alex." I stuttered, feeling my eyes stinging with tears again as I could no longer hear any form of breathing from him.
It was like he was dead.
"Nooooooooooo." I screamed, shaking him when Jaxton got up and dragged me away, shouting some orders I didn't bother listening to.
"Let me go." I struggled but he wrapped his hand around my waist and drew me into him.
"Relax, he is still alive but barely. My private physicians will attend to him now." Jaxton bent to whisper into my ears and my lips parted in shock.
"Really?" I turned to ask him and he nodded. I let out a sigh of relief and hugged him in appreciation. I felt him stiffen in my arms and released him.
"Thank you." I whispered as I watched men in white coats troop into the room and hurriedly attend to Alex.
As I watched them, I felt my eyes growing heavy, my vision blurry as I struggled to keep my eyes open. I felt Jaxton's hand on my shoulders, staggered into his arms and gave into unconsciousness.
When next I opened my eyes, I was in a beautiful room, thrice my bedroom, back at home. Speaking of bedroom, my parents crossed my mind and I immediately raised from the bed.
An headache out of nowhere hit me and I let out a groan as I cupped my head into my hands.
'Where was I?' I pondered and just then the door flew open and Jaxton walked in with a smile and a tray of food occupying his hands.
"You awake." He commented and I struggled to return his smile as he placed the tray on the stool that I didn't notice was beside me.
"Where are we?" I questioned and he walked towards the window, his hands in his pockets.
"My fortress, a place my brother wouldn't get to you." Jaxton answered.
"Yet." He added, running his hand through his dark hair.
"Brother?" I furrowed my brows at him in confusion.
Jaxton had a brother? Or it was a slip of tongue?
"Do you mean your father?" I pointed out to him and he frowned like I had touched a sore topic, which I understand how he felt.
Speaking of that man was making my blood boil but we had to be
clear.
"Nope, my brother. Killian is my elder brother not father." Jaxton revealed and I felt like my world just crumbled.
