FOUR.
PLANS.
Aria's POV.
"Me? How?" I half-yelled and Jaxton stood up to walk up to me. My heart raced with every step he took and finally, he sat on the bed, his fingers a few inches away from mine.
"A banquet is happening at Alpha's Academy and the supreme council of the realm shall be around but then Killian might not show. Such events bore him." Jaxton began and I furrowed my brows at him in confusion.
He wasn't hitting the point.
"I still don't see how that involves me." I told him and he placed a hand under his chin.
"To get Killian to be in attendance, we have to lure him with something he wants." Jaxton said and I reared backwards as it dawned on me.
"Nope." I shook my head sideways, no way in hell was I accepting whatever it was, he wanted to propose.
"Yes. You are going to be the bait." Jaxton pointed at me and a huge lump formed in my throat.
"But how?" I wanted to scream but swallowed it.
"Alpha'a academy is only for male students, so for you to get in, you have to disguise yourself to be a male." Jaxton stood up and began pacing the room while I felt like I had been dealt a huge blow.
'Pretend to be what now?' I pondered, my lips parting in shock.
"So let me get this straight. I am supposed to enter a male's college as a male to lure Killian?" I asked and Jaxton nodded immediately.
"Big brother is obsessed with you. We have to take advantage of that." Jaxton told me and I gulped down the saliva gathering in my mouth.
"I refuse." I told Jaxton who frowned at me.
"But why? You would be saved." He tried convincing me and I narrowed my eyes at him.
"If I can recall properly, I am supposed to be the sacrificial lamb." I pointed it out to him in case he had forgotten.
Jaxton laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his golden hair that I felt like swiping my hands through for the hundredth time.
Even though I didn't like him, his hair was something that I admired very much.
"Not exactly the sacrificial lamb. Think of it as killing two birds with one stone. You get to be under 24 hours protection and also get to take down our common enemy." Jaxton explained in a way that I found myself actually thinking it through.
"Alright." I agreed and he smiled. "When is the ball?"
"In 72 hours." Jaxton walked over to the window to look outside while I froze.
"7-2 h-hours?" I stuttered and he nodded.
