Martin let Lexi go so that she could prepare lunch for them as he flipped through his phone. Martin wanted to know how he could handle Lexi's issues without causing a problem between them because the other her seemed to forget alot of things..

He googled a few things about people with alter ego but nothing explained Lexi's problem. It couldn't be the heart transplant because alot of people have gotten blood transfusion but no cases of them behaving like the people whose bloods were transfused in them were reported.

Where did Lexi get the knife she had because it wasn't even an ordinary knife, it was a doubled edge sword with goldlike handles..

Lexi: babe, the food is ready.

She said carrying some food in a plate from the kitchen and setting it before Martin who smiled briefly and put the phone away once Lexi joined him.

Martin: thanks, this looks nice..

Lexi: everything I cook looks nice babe.

She said planting a kiss on his cheek and adding some salt to her food.

Lexi: I will be going to see my mum later in the afternoon, you want to come with me?

Martin: uumh...I was with your mum earlier.

Lexi: you were?

Martin nodded and glanced at her then picked the plate from the table and held it in his hand as he ate.

Lexi: Martin!

Martin: you left and I didn't know where you went to Lexi, I had to go check if you were there.

Lexi didn't say another word and there was a bit of a silence as they both ate.

ELSEWHERE

Hours later Laura drove to the gate to Lawrence's estate and even though the guards told her that Lawrence had left, she insisted on going in and they let her because she gave them alot of money for their tea which was more of a bribe. Laura always believed that when the guards refrain her from going in it's because Lawrence brought another woman since She caught him once and Laura created a scene that the owner of the estate threatened to throw Lawrence out if he couldn't control his women.

Laura drove in and when he got to Lawrence's door, there was a strange looking car, a taxi but she noticed that Lawrence's car was missing at the parking.

She got out of hers and looked at the taxi on her way in.

Laura: since when did Lawrence do taxis?

She said pulling down the door handle and opening it. The door had not been locked so she walked along the small corridor as she called Lawrence but there was no response. She went to the living room but he was not there and no one else was.

Laura: baby!

She called leaving the living room to the corridor that leads to the bedroom but when she took a few steps, she saw blood and froze on her tracks..

Laura: Lawrence?

She called gathering some courage and walking towards the bathroom where she saw Lawrence lying in a pool of blood.

She let out a loud scream and ran back to the living room fanning her self and looking all confused..

Laura: oh my God... Lawrence...what happened to you?..

She was panting and busy looking for her phone in her handbag when she got it and dropped the bag.

She didn't know who to call so she stood there knocking her head for a while before

She ran to the house telephone and called the guards at the gate and asked them to go to the house quick.

Laura dropped the phone then called the police hotline and told them someone was dead then gave them the address to Lawrence's house then ended it and soon as they finished talking.

The guards were by the door by then and Laura led them in so that they could see what she was talking about.

Guard 1: Madam...

He didn't finish what he was saying but remained with his mouth wide open when he saw Lawrence lying there.

Laura: what happened to him?

She sounded a bit harsh expecting him to know what had happened because they always know when someone buys a new item or when someone brings a woman home, they ought to be aware of what had happened to Lawrence.

Lexi managed to convince Martin to go home with her after they had lunch which Martin accepted because he wanted to hear if Lexi would tell her mother where she was when she knocked him down or what she had been upto.

Martin stopped by the car that was parked in their parking lot and showed her the car he was talking about and Lexi acted like she had not even seen that car leave alone being in it.

Martin opened the door to his car for Lexi to go in and she did then he looked at the other car unsatisfied as he went to the other side and got in.

Martin: seat belt on please.

He said as he put on his before starting the car. Lexi did too.

Martin drove for a while and there was an awkward silence between them. Everything had been totally different since Lexi got out of the hospital.

Before Lexi getting admitted or rather before she got completely sick she was all bubbly and excited about planning her wedding. Martin had proposed to her and she said yes because she wanted to have the best of her time with Martin before she finally got to say goodbye.

Everyone but Martin had given up on her getting better because there had not been an available heart for her then again, Lexi had refused to be flown to India for the surgery claiming that she wanted to die at home next to Martin.

Lexi: babe,

Martin got his eyes off the road abit and looked at her.

Lexi: why are you so distant towards me?

Martin: I'm not. I'm here with you driving to your mum's place right?

Lexi: that's not what I'm asking. You have been acting strange since I got out of the hospital. Don't you love me anymore, it feels like you didn't want me to make it so that you could move on with your life from this troublesome me. Is there someone else?

Martin: what?..

He slowed down and pulled over by the side of the road.

Martin: why would you say that?

She shrugged her shoulder then went quiet. she crossed her arms to her chest and waited to hear from Martin who was trying so hard not to blow up on her.

Martin: I would never look at another woman the way I look at you Lexi. I love you.

He turned and looked at her.

Martin: I love you and that's why even though I don't understand you, I'm still with you in this car..

Lexi: so you are saying I'm so difficult to deal with, is that what you are saying Martin?

Lexi asked but before he could answer she took off her seat belt and opened the door to the car and got out. Martin got out too and caught up with her.

Martin: where are you going?

Lexi: to see my mother and I don't need you following me around like a fly.

Martin: get in the car and I'm not asking.

He tried to grab her arm but she pulled away from him.

Lexi: do you want me to scream and alert people of your harrasment?

Martin stepped back. Lexi had changed from the calm collected Lexi to this angry and aggressive person but he had seen that person before. It's the same person that knocked his head that morning.

Martin: you told me to take you to your mother's house remember?

Lexi: yeah but I changed my mind because I find you so annoying right now.

She started to walk away but he wouldn't let her. He kept up with her pace and stood before her and when she tried to push him out of his way, he blocked her and took her hand.

Lexi: let me go Martin...

Martin did not let her go so she started shouting to attract people's attention and before Martin could get her into the car, some guy came from the other side of the road and pushed Martin then he let go of her. Lexi stood there watching.

Guy: the lady says No man, respect her decision.

Martin: and who the f**k are you coming between me and my woman?

When the guy heard that, he punched Martin in the face then kicked him in the stomach and he was down by the time the guy was turning to Lexi.

Guy: are you okay lady?

Lexi responded with a kick between his legs and ran off leaving both of them groaning in pain. She stopped some bike guy then hopped on the bike and it left.

Bike guy: where to?

Lexi: I will show you....

Elsewhere..

The officers came after half an hour and found Lawrence's body right where it was when Lexy left. That was the second body that had been found within that area with no proper explanation.

Officer: who are you to the diseased?

The officers asked taking Lawrence's body and putting it in a body bag.

Laura: I'm his fiancee.

Officer: when did you last speak to him?

Laura: earlier this morning and he was just fine.

One of the officers was busy recording Laura's statement.

Officer: anyone you know that would have wanted to kill him for whatever reason?

Laura: no officer. Lawrence had no enemies.

Officer: and you ( to guards) anyone suspeious that might have come here?

Guard 2: suspeious no. But there was a woman who said she was coming to pick him up. She said she was a taxi driver and she was in that car parked out there.

Laura: so it was a woman, why don't I have that information, what do I pay you for.

Officer: shut up madam, if you were better at handling this case, you would not have called us here.

Laura: sorry sir.

Officer: (to the guards) do you have the name of the woman?

Guard: Cynthia sir. She said her name was Cynthia.

The other guard looked at him surprised of the lie but he played along.

Guard 1: we don't know anything else about her sir.

Officer: how did she leave when she left her car here?

Guard 2: we saw Lawrence's car drive off so we thought they left together.

Laura: you thought!

Officer: madam, we will throw you out.

Laura: sorry officer but...

Officer: shut up.

She did but looked very angry and impatient.

When the officers left, even Laura was asked to leave

When the officer finished taking statements they took the body and took it outside in their car. They asked the guards to keep the door locked as they would send their experts to collect blood samples and evidence of anyone who had been in that house....

Martin got up, opened the door to his car and got in then drove off. He didn't want to to show up at Gloria's again with the same claims because it didn't seem like she believed him so he drove back home and called his sister Stella who had been out of the country for a while and came back just a few days ago.

Stella: hey bro?

Martin: Stella can you come over?

Stella: of cause yes, is there a problem?

Martin: no but please come over. I need to tell you something...

Stella: it better be good. I'm on my way.

Martin ended the call then hurried to his room, he checked the drawers to look for the knife hoping Lexi had kept it somewhere. He wanted to get rid of it. Martin had thought of ending it with Lexi but how could he,he loved her.

He pulled out the few clothes Lexi had and checked but the knife was not there. He went to the kitchen and checked the cabinets but it was not there. Could that knife have something to do with her killing someone? He thought to himself. Why did she take it with her Everytime?

He was in the middle of his thoughts when his phone rang and when he checked, it was Gloria.

Martin: ma'am

Gloria: you were right about Lexi

Martin: has she been there?

Gloria: yes, and she is was acting abnormal.

Martin: how do you mean?

Gloria: when she got here, she was all excited to see me and stuff we even sat to talk. She didn't look sick to me. She said she was here to pick her phone but when her father showed up, she became a totally different person.

Martin: her father showed up?

Gloria: yes, there is something I need to tell you about Lexi's father.

Martin: well?..

Gloria: he came back a month ago after he was deported and he wanted to see Lexi. When he walked in Lexi was so mad and she stormed out.

Martin: where did she go?

Gloria: I don't know. Try finding her on her phone Martin, tell me if you find her.

Martin: okay..

Stella called him almost immediately asking where to park her car because the parking was full and Martin rushed to the parking.

Stella: bro, this is a sick car, men! You bought a car?

Martin: I don't know whose car it is. Let's go.

Stella: is my car okay there?

Martin: yeah for now. The owner of that house is not in and comes back late at night.

Stella: so whose car is that?

Martin: I don't know..

They got home and Martin ushered her in.

Stella: you are not happy. What is it?

Martin: it's Lexi...

Stella: of cause, it had to be her. Did she leave you?

Martin: no. What do I offer you?

Stella: coffee will do.

Stella followed Martin to the kitchen and they made coffee together as Martin narrated everything to her. She was in shock hearing all that.

Stella: you think she is a mental case?

Martin: I don't know what to think, I had to talk to someone because I'm going insane. Stella: how is it when her other personality kicks in?

Martin: just different. It's hard to tell because the face is still intact but she becomes very aggressive and hard to talk to.

They were silent for a moment.

Stella: what will you do now, what if she has really been killing people. She will end up in jail Martin or she could kill you too. Leave her and forget about her.

Martin didn't respond but he seemed helpless. How could he leave someone he had loved through four years of college and seven years in total. She was everything he ever wanted in life.

Stella: bro..

Putting her mug on the sink and holding to his shoulder.

Stella: she is dangerous and I don't want to loose you. Check her into a mental institution or run for your life.

Martin: let's forget about her for a moment. How was your journey back?...

Lexi got out of the cab she had taken from her place and paid the guy this time as she found her way to the office she was going. This time she was going to meet George. A man whom her vision portrayed as a serious womanizer who couldn't see a skirt pass by.

He was the man whom Thompson's woman was dating secretly. He knew about the virus too and was using her to get to him.

Secretary: excuse me sir, someone is here for you.

George: do they have an appointment?

He asked looking up at her from his laptop

Secretary: no sir but she says it's important she sees you.

George: she, did she say where she is coming from?

Secretary: no sir...

George: let her in..

The secretary went back to the waiting area and Lexi was seated there with one leg crossed on top of the other checking her nails and acting all composed.

Secretary: excuse me.

Lexi looked at her.

Secretary: he is ready to see you.

She smiled as she got up and picked her little purse then said thanks as she walked past her heading to the office.

The secretary shrugged her shoulder then walked to her desk..

Lexi knocked and when she walked in, George couldn't help but stare at her. He quickly got up and gave her his hand for a hand shake...

Lexi: hello George..

She was very confident as if she had seen him before.

George: hello, do I know you?

Lexi: no. But you will be interested in finding out what I have to offer.

She flashed a very charming smile and he was smitten...

George: what do you have to offer?

He asked tilting his head to the side and checking her out once again.

Lexi: business and pleasure if you want.

She bit her lips and smiled again.

George: it's almost 5:00pm. Would you like us to go somewhere and have coffee and we discuss business?

Lexi: sure, why not?

George got up picked his coat and car keys then led Lexi out. He asked the secretary to lock his office and cancel any other appointments that were between then and 5:00pm.

He led the way to the exit as Lexi followed with a smile to herself...
