It was prom night, everyone was excited about their dates, and dresses to wear.

But Katrina's mind was else where.

Katrina's has a beauty that makes every guy in school wants to be her date, but she couldn't accept anyone knowing full well what will happen or the uncertainty of what will happen at the end of the day.

So far, no one knows about her secret except for her mum, Teresa.

Katrina , her mum called trying to persuade her.

it hurts her to see her daughter like this, she lost one child and she wasn't ready to lose another.

just relax and enjoy prom like every other normal teenager.

Katrina changed into the dress and came out to show her mum with a sad expression .

Teresa smiled in admiration.

Katrina forced a smile.

Mum, you didn't get this dress for me did you?

What do you mean by that, Teresa asked confuse.

You know I don't like the color blue, or such revealing clothes, yet you got this.

I admit that I do miss her a lot and wish she was here

but am glad I have you.

Katrina stand at the entrance of the school looking all stunning in her blue mermaid dress, that was a bit too revealing for her taste with it's high slit at the front,

but she had to pretend to like it seeing how sad her mum was.

William was her date tonight, and she hope and pray nothing goes wrong.

for once in her life, she wants something for herself alone and not shared.

William walked up to her, looking as handsome as always.

Katrina's heart raced at the sight of him,

she has liked William for a long time now,

and now he finally asked her to be his prom date

and hopefully, if things go right, they could start dating for real.

The party started and everyone came on stage to dance with their partners.
