I WILL BE YOUR FRIEND PART 2

Christine POV

When mom told me that she will buy some clothes for Daniel, I nodded in agreement. He needs new clothes. I think he experienced a lot of things, things that are unforgettable and a bad memory for a kid the same age as me.

“Daniel, I have a question, but please don’t be mad, and tell me the truth” he nodded; “What happened to you, and where are your parents?”

He looks at me and what he said broke my heart to pieces, my mom died, she was the only one who loves me and took care of me, and only the person who did not hurt me, physically and mentally, she became my savior, she is married to my father, well that was all we thought that he is my father, until I was 6 my mom told me the truth, that the man she married is not my father, and he knows it that is why he kept on hurting me, because my mom and I look the same, whenever he saw me, all he can see is what my mother did, I cannot blame her though, but I blame the fate of my mom, my mother deserved to be love, my mother deserve to be treated like a queen, but instead she became the slave of that drunken man, my mom died due to heart attack and before she died, she told me that someday will meet my angel, and thank you Christine because you are my angel you saved me the time that I am not thinking straight.”

Everyone deserves to be happy, to live their lives to the fullest and to be loved, this is what my mom keeps on telling me whenever I ask her why she and dad loves me so much, and I know this kid also deserves to be loved and to be taken care of.

“I am not an angel, your mom died but it doesn’t mean that she left you, she died but her love for you didn’t, she is your guardian angel, she is the one who is protecting you, so please take care of yourself and live your life, not everyone gets a chance to live, some people did not even get a chance to see the world before they died” I said to him, he has to know how special he is, his story touch my heart, but he need to see that he still have a future.

“Christine, I do not have anyone else, that is why at that moment I just want to leave the world, my step father keeps on beating me and does not allow me to eat for two days, my grandparents disown me and us their grandchild because they do not know who my father is. My mom told me that my father is a very smart man, he always takes care of her, and bring her favorite flowers lilies, they will dance in the middle of the night even though, there is no music, when my grandparents know about their relationship, they look for someone that they think that will be suitable for their status, when my mom said this to my father, and she told him that she might be pregnant, but what did he said, he told her that maybe she should marry someone else because, he cannot give her a good life, you see, even my own father did not want me. I want to give you something but I do not have anything right now, but if you want me to do your house chores, I will do it” he said to me

“ I know what I want, and it is to see you smile someday, the warm hearted smile, and I want to see your eyes glitters with happiness, you told me that you have no one, well mister not anymore, I will be your new friend, and that is if you want to.” I said to him and smiled at him

His eyes are glisten with tears

The door burst open and there I saw Daryl with Aunty Michelle, he was holding a tumbler that contained my favorite strawberry shake. Daryl looks at Daniel and me, then Daniel then me again.

“Who are you and what are you doing? Can’t you see that there is a vacant chair there, why do you have to sit on her bedside?”

This guy will be a troublemaker, and that I am sure of it, when I told him everything that happened that day, he was mad, this is the only time that he visits again, I hope he is not mad anymore.

“Daryl meets Daniel, Daniel meets Daryl” I said to him and I look at Daryl signaling him not to do anything to Daniel, well I hope he gets the point. “Daniel, Daryl is my friend; he is a nice person even though he acts like a brat”

Daryl POV

“Daryl meets Daniel, Daniel meets Daryl” I said to him and I look at Daryl signaling him not to do anything to Daniel, well I hope he gets the point. “Daniel, Daryl is my friend; he is a nice person even though he acts like a brat” she told to Daniel

“I am a brat? No you are a brat” I told to Christine

What on earth is wrong with this brat, why did she let him sit in her bedside, doesn’t she know that the bed in the hospitals are for its patients, she is the patient here because of what she did for him, but I must say this guy looks pitiful no wonder she feels bad.

“This is for you Christine”; my mom gave Christine the strawberry shake that we made.

“Thank you Aunty Michelle” she said to her, this time the Daniel boys are still sitting on her bedside and me sitting on the chair that used to be vacant.

“Oh don’t thank me dear, thank Daryl he was the one who kept on bugging me just to help him made that strawberry shake, he knows that you like it so much, and he said that if you drink it, maybe you will feel less painful” my mom blab, what on earth she is saying, well what she said is true but I do not want her to know that. Now I can feel my cheeks turning red.

“Hey Mr. Know it all, thank you I really appreciate it”

This time Candy and Christine’s father open the door and they have a lot of shopping bags.

Candy POV

“Oh hello Michelle, I didn’t know that you will visit Christine today” I said to her “Oh Candy, we are supposed to visit tomorrow it is just there is a brat who kept on bugging me” She said and I know who that brat is, Daryl.

“Mom” Daryl said to his mother, this boy might be a pain in the ass but I know he is just worried about my baby and I am glad that he is her friend; I know my baby will be safe when he is around.

“Daniel, come here boy, can you please try to wear this for us.” I gave him a t- shirt that has a star wars design in front. I think this is perfect for his age.

“Ma’am I do not know if I should wear this, this looks expensive” he said to me while looking at the floor, this boy has been through a lot.

“Oh no my dear, wear it because everything that is in the shopping bag are all yours, we bought it all for you.” I said to him

“Ma’am I am not sure if you are aware that I am the reason why your daughter is in the hospital right now” he said to me with guilt that is drawn all over his face. “Oh Daniel, I am very aware of that, but please do not blame yourself for what happened, because no one in this room is blaming you. Oh and by the way you will live with us from now on, and you will study where Christine is studying, you will help us in the house chores since my princess can’t move, is that okay with you? From now on we will be your little family?”

Michelle and Daryl look shocked and it is written all over their faces.
