CONFESSION PART TWO

Robert is went to the refrigerator to look for the strawberry ice cream which is his daughter favorite and he also went for a scoop of vanilla ice cream, after he put the ice cream on a tray and ready to go upstairs to talk to his daughter, he was nervous because if ever he made a wrong decision or choice of word it might destroy their closeness, his love for his daughter is immeasurable. He is on the door and prepare himself to knock when the door suddenly open and he saw his daughter smiling at him, for him her smile is like a contagious disease that when she smile at you even though you are having a bad day, that bad day will vanish and will be replace by his daughter love and innocent. Her smile always reminds him of his wife because Christine got his mother a feature that is why whenever he looks at her she will always remind him of his wife.

“Here you go, my love now we have a lot of stories to tell to each other” he gave the ice cream to his daughter with a smile that was plastered on his face.

They sat on her bed and the two seemed nervous, her dad is the first one who talks to break the ice of silence “What is wrong my princess? You know that dad will always listen to you and take care of you right? But for the past few days you are not yourself, you seem sad, and a little bird told me that I should just ask you” she chuckled at this and she answered him “if you are pertaining to Daryl he is right daddy, it is a good thing that you ask me yourself. You see daddy I like someone” she look at her father and stare at him if he still wants her to continue, her father nod at her as a sign that she should continue “and that someone feels the same towards me” her father already has an idea who that someone is but he still wants his daughter to spell it out for him so he ask his daughter a question “and that someone is?” After he said these words he raised his eyebrows… “Daryl,” his daughter said to him.

“You see princess, I was only protective to you because you are my only child well except for Daniel because he was like a child to me, you are my only princess and no one in this word can change that, if someone tried to hurt you or hurt you I might kill them for you or for the hurt that they cause you, I love you so much for me to watch you get hurt, but if you want Daryl to be your boyfriend I will be okay with it, because it is Daryl I knew he will not hurt you in any way at least not intentionally. But if he does I will never forgive him and I may hurt him intentionally, I do not care whether his mother is your mothers best friend, once he lays a finger on you I will hurt him twice as he hurt you, never forget that '' after he said this he hugged his daughter. For him his daughter and his wife are the treasure that no one can replace, for him they are his life, for him they are the air that he breathes, this is how much he loves his daughter. She looks at his father with a true smile on her face and also hugs him “I love you daddy… so you are not mad at me?” she ask him innocently “his dad was taken aback by his daughter question “did you two kiss?” he ask her on a fatherly tone, she was shocked by his question “daddy, why would you think that'' she looked at him with a questioning eyes, why would her father ask her this question. Her father said to him " because you seem nervous and all, you just like the guy and it is normal, it is normal to like someone princess most especially at your age" and he pinched his daughter's cheeks. After the father and daughter bond, they make jokes and from time to time they will mimic a movie character and make fun of them. He loves his daughter and he will make sure that no one will hurt her or else he will give them hell of a price.

As her father walks out of the room, he made sure that his daughter is asleep and kiss her forehead, for him his princess is the only one in the world, his daughter is the nicest, sweetest and caring person in the world, and no person is dumb enough to dump his daughter. He slowly walks toward the door and opens it slowly to make sure that his daughter will not wake up by the noise.

When he is outside Christine’s room he went downstairs and saw Daniel on the minibar looking for something to drink, his eyes are sad they show how hard everything for Daniel is but he cannot do anything for him, in his eyes and in his heart Daniel is also his kid, his to take care and his to love, they might not be blood related but the way Daniel took care of Christine in her ups and downs he was like a brother he chuckled and mentally yell at himself who was he kidding he knows that this young fine looking man is in love with his daughter. His steps made a sound while he was walking towards the mini fridge when Daniel heard a sound he looked for the source and he found Christine’s father.

“Uncle I was just looking for something to drink and he showed him the soda” he just smile at him and said “How many times do I have to tell you that you can call me Dad, can you please grab me a drink we need to talk” he said to him smiling, after a couple of minutes they are now in the sofa and Daniel gave him his drink. “You like my daughter don’t you, and don’t ever think that you can lie to me young man, because I am not blind” he said to Daniel with a monotone voice “Yes sir, I do like your daughter, but the feeling is not mutual and I just want her to be happy even though I am not someone who she likes” this made Robert smiled because he knows that no matter what happened in the future there will be someone who will love her daughter. “If I will be the one who will choose between you and Daryl I will chose you for my Daughter because I know that what you feel is love towards her and not just an infatuation and by saying, you just want her to be happy even though you are not the one who made her smile that hurts a lot for man to say, but you said it and you acknowledge that you love her. I know it is one of the reason why you do not want us to adopt you” he smile at him and continue what he wants to said “Daniel promise me that no matter what happened in the future you will be happy, maybe in the future you and my daughter will end up together, who knows no one knows what the future prepared for us” they both laugh at each other and Daniel replied to Robert wholeheartedly with a smile on his face “I promise” and while they both laughing Candice is walking downstairs and said to them “the two of you should really sleep it is already late and you old man clean up this mess, sleep, now” and she made sure that she gave emphasis to the word sleep and now, the two laugh harder and Robert answered his wife “yes love” she went back upstairs and sleep.
