FAMILY

After the celebration for their graduation the next day, Daniel, Daryl and Christine are sitting in Christine’s floor room and planning their future quietly until Daniel decides to break the silence and talk. “I know this will be hard but I decided to leave you guys after the graduation” while saying this heart tightens and does not know what to do most especially he was doing this for Christine and for his own good. Christine looks at him and said “what do you mean leave?'' She was shocked she didn't know what to do. She grew up with the two of them and suddenly she will be left alone. Daryl will study abroad just like what his father plans for him and Daniel will leave? These are all the thoughts that are running to her mind and she doesn't know how to avoid it. She feels like she is drowning with worries and no one is there to lend her a hand. “I will leave the country” he said this in a monotone like it is not a big deal. “But why? Did I do something wrong, did we do something wrong, why would you leave me? We said that we will be together. Have you forgotten about that? Please don’t leave me. I will be selfish right now, I do not want to be left out, I do not want to be alone” she replied to him while tears were flowing to her eyes. It hurts Daniel to see Christine like this; this is the first time he saw her cry. He wants to hug her but he knows that he doesn’t have the right to do it, most especially that Daryl is there. “Christine we all know that nothing is permanent in this world, we have to grow and it doesn’t mean that I will never be back, I just want to look for something or someone who will complete the missing piece of my life” Christine hugged Daniel tightly and said to him “Can’t I be that piece” she is still a crying mess the hugged shock him, this is the first time that they hugged each other and it is not a group hug “I hope you are the missing piece, but Christine” she look into her eyes and said to her “I will leave in order to look for my father, I just want to look for him and talk to him. I know he is still alive Uncle Robert hired a private investigator to help me look for my dad” he was lost in her eyes they are like a amidst and no one was there who will help him. “I promise I will be back but I do not know how long will I be gone, but I will be back you guys are my family and no one can ever change that” he said to her, he was like in a little bubble that full of love and happiness when he realized how important he is to Christine. She is still crying but she will not be selfish “Come back no matter how long it is whether it will take fifteen years come back here and promise me that you will find you own happiness and contentment, and someday when you build your own family and I build mine we are still this close, you are like a shield to me I know that you will protect me no matter what happens and I know that you will not hurt me, so please come back because I will be here waiting for my protector to comeback” she said this softly and her mouth is near to his ears she is still sobbing but her words reach his heart and he knows that no matter how long will it take there will always be a home that he can come back to. He just hope that the two of them will be the one who will build a family, but his bubble burst when Daryl touched Christine’s hands and pulled her away from him and Daryl hugged Christine “Baby stop crying I know that Daniel is important to you but he also is important to us, it is also hard for Daniel to said it and I know that it is hard for him because I also felt the same when I told you guys that I have to leave
