DRASTIC CHANGE

After the event on the beach, days have passed. Those days became years and now I am looking at the mirror wearing my graduation cap that is neatly cleaned by my mother. Today is our graduation day. I am supposed to be happy about it but I am not. After today everything will change Daryl will leave for college he will study in America and Daniel will also leave me, my two precious friends will leave me behind and will continue to walk on the path that they have chosen, I want to become a doctor I do not know what I want for my specialty is, but I know for a fact that I want to become a doctor, Daryl wants to become a businessman Daniel wants to become a lawyer.

I looked outside and looked at the sky. I saw how blue it is and how the clouds move. I saw the shape of a dog, well I might be imagining things but I just want to be happy even though we will be part ways, because how would we grow if we stick up together. The world is big enough for us to meet new people.

Hours have passed and now I am looking at a massive amount of people who are looking at me as I give my valedictorian speech. “We gather here today to end this chapter and begin a new beginning, as we walk out to that door we will leave our chairs that we have seated for years, the corridors where we usually run and the canteen where we usually push each other in order to buy our lunches'' they all laugh at me and I smile at them as I continue my speech “but we will walk through that door with smile and proud, we will leave this school but the memories that we have made together our in us” I stop for a moment and look at my boyfriend and our best friend as I smile at them “whenever we fail we stumble and fall but we will always rise from our failure and fight like hell” I heard a lot of people gasp to the word that I used, this is the first time that they heard me to say such word but since this will be the last time I am glad that I express my thoughts. After my speech our graduation was smoothly finished and my classmates congratulated me and shook my hand because of my speech. Everyone goes to the stage and we take a picture and we throw our caps in the air while we all laugh. After some time I was looking for my boyfriend and my best friend. I saw that the two of them were laughing. I hug the two of them at their backs and when they look at me I ask them “What is so funny?” The two of them raised their eyebrows and said “nothing is funny '' I stare at them and they are also staring at me. I am waiting for the explanation but they did not explain furthermore. I look at my boyfriend until he cracks “Okay fine, since you are staring at us like we committed a crime. Daniel here just congratulated me because I have the most amazing woman in the world” and he hug me tightly to the point that I feel suffocated “guys can you at least cut some slack, I am single here for crying out loud, I have no one to flirt with” and I kick his leg “don’t ever flirt mister” I said to him in a stern tone. “My boyfriend and I decided to group hug Daniel, well since Daryl and I practically grew up together and since the day that Daniel is living with us he became a family, as we hug him I said “Daniel you are never alone, and you will never be alone, even though that you will study in different school than mine that only god knows where, always remember that you are part of my family” he hugged as back tightly and let go. Daryl was missing after that hug and now I am walking towards my parents

I saw my mother smiley face and my father’s proud face miles away, I run to them as their little girl and kiss both of their cheeks my mom hug me and my father hug me next after my mom and whisper something at my ear “well my baby girl has grown” and he kiss my cheeks ``Well even though that you have a boyfriend, you will always be my baby girl always remember that. So even if he hurt you he should know that I will come at him and hunt him and make him feel like hell for hurting my baby girl” my father is so protective when it comes to me, well I can’t blame him after all I am an only child and I know that my parents love me very much. My mom tapped my father’s shoulder and said “honey Christine is old enough, I know that she is still our baby girl” she lean closer to us and said in a whisper tone “but if you kill her boyfriend just inform me immediately and we will handle all the evidences that will tell that it is you who give him hell” and we'll laugh at this “mom, dad” I look at my parents and I saw that they are about to cry “Daryl might be my boyfriend but I will always be your little girl, the little girl who is always waiting for her father to come home and the little girl who adore her mother for all the sacrifices that she made for our family. I hugged them and I saw Daniel who was walking toward us. I called for him “Daniel come here, why do you walk so slow, what are you a turtle?” He looks at us and joins our family hug as I see I love my family and I always will, and I will kill anyone who wants to hurt my family. “Now Christine go find Daryl since he is your boyfriend and let’s celebrate this occasion with his family.
