The young Omega girl babbles non-stop as we pull away from the mansion. It’s a good two hours’ drive to the fairgrounds, and I just know Brooke make me insane long before we get there.
Egbert gives me an apologetic look. I shrug at him and settle back.
Colin and Rudolph are in the front, as per usual, and I put the screen up for a little privacy, but I can hear their voices drift through the divider. Like everyone else, they welcome the reprieve and distraction.
