I hear the banging of the door in the study, the whole house must be shaking that is how hard the sound is. It immediately sets me on edge, even more than I already am. I’m trying to get work done, but I keep thinking about the way Ethan was acting this morning.
I know I could have handled everything better, but I don’t normally have to check if others are okay with something. If something needs to be done, I only have to say so and it will be done. That is how it goes as an Alpha. People listen to what I say and do it.
But I saw the hurt in his eyes, the look of... betrayal. I know I should have first talked to him, but I chickened out. I ball my fists and take a deep breath. I’m the Alpha, people listen to me. But, maybe... maybe Ethan doesn’t.
