“It’s been a long day.” I feel the need to apologise for him even though I know that there is no need to do so.
“I know.” Mum casts a glance at me. “Are you sure you’ll be okay? This can be a lot to handle and the media is all over you two.”
“Oh, god, the media.” I’m already tired, but I know that with my position in society I’ll need to bring out a statement soon. Then something else occurs to me. “And how am I going to tell Alexia?”
“Don’t worry about all that. For today, you go be with your man. I’ll send the media away. Tomorrow we’ll get together and make a plan. Media, company, Ethan’s living arrangements, everything.
