Chapter 14As their arrival was expected, McGowan senior was waiting. He showed Phil and Donny into his front room.
“We'd like to speak to each of you separately, if that would be okay,” Donny asked.
Mr McGowan nodded and closed the door to afford some privacy, then ushered them to sit.
“How's Kevin?” Phil asked."
McGowan shook his head. “We don't know what to do for him. He's hardly spoken a word. He doesn't want to leave his room and he's hardly eaten a thing.”
“It's a very difficult time,” Phil acknowledged. “It could be worth speaking to your G.P. about grief counselling.”
McGowan nodded. Donny allowed a short period of silence to pass before commencing. “Your wife told us, the other day, about how well Keiran fitted into your family,”
