One Night Plus a Lifetime

Ready for love

it was the next day, Aria woke up feeling exited about the day, she got her self ready , wearing a black Rock T-shirt..black ripped jeans and her converse , giving a grunge look , she thought it would be fun to try and change her style from simple to a bit complex . She tied her hair up into a bun .

yesterday she explored the city today she wanted to familiarise herself with the campus, she went to the kitchen and decided to make breakfast all the time she lived with her dad , he always made breakfast for her she missed his tea.

Callie and Meredith were still sleeping she did not want to wake them , she made breakfast for them too before grabbing her things and waking out.

after wondering around for a while , she found something that caught her attention , it was the library , ...in the middle of the building with large wooden doors. This will be her favourite part of the school she knew it.

she walked in , it was very quiet and peaceful . The books where arranged in isles neatly all around the room and the chairs were in the middle .

Aria browsed through the books till she found something to read , sitting down

she got lost in the pages. Time went by ..and it was almost noon , the only thing that pulled her back to reality was the sound of her rambling stomach wanting to be fed ,

she got up and left the library, there where a lot of clubs to join all stationed in the back large open grass , its where most students would hang around, Music, group ,soccer ,the other one was a fashion group filled with girls that dressed like they were on a reality show , a bit extravagant for her , she was intrigued by the science research group Aria was not interested in joining just yet there was a lot of time for that.

She found a tree and sat down watching people go by there day , she called Meredith and asked were she was , Aria wanted to find something to eat.

"gosh am so hungry, "

"me too"

a voice came behind the tree she was leaning on.

she got up immediately and walked behind it to check who was there, her heart skipped a beat when she saw the man that was seated down on the green grass, he looked at her and smiled. Aria did not realise that someone was sited behind ...she felt a bit awkward for talking to herself out loud .

the man was cute, had blue and blonde hair eyes which made a contrast to his white shirt , she smiled back at him politely and stood there awkwardly.

"I...i was just-"

"talking to yourself?....me too"

he spoke cutting her sentence Aria felt even more awkward , she thought he was talking to her , she cursed at herself for imaging things, the man looked at her and all she wanted was to disappear.

"hello strange girl who talks to herself ...my name is Pete" he reached his hand to greet her

" i am Aria ..."

she greeted him back , shaking his hand.

" i thought you were hungry"

he laughed a little teasing her.

"i guess that's..... my name too ..."

she responded. And he laughed once again. Aria felt her head was in chaos , she did not know how to act around this man without being awkward , he made her slightly nervous.

"I've never seen you here before ...are you new ?"

Pete asked her.

"yes i arrived on Sunday"

"I guess i must lucky ..to have seen you first"

he spoke in a low voice but Aria heard him and instantly she blushed her face changing temperature.

"what" she pretended not to have heard .

"what's your major" he asked again.

and she explained it to him , She noticed he was staring at her as if he was fascinated by her and she could not handle those eyes of his. She asked him how long he had been here"2 years majoring in business administration "he said , this was his last year here. "That's amazing" Aria said .

"yeah..... its really not"

Pete had a nice sense of humor , Aria thought it was cute. She did not realise but she was getting attracted to him by the minute , all the thoughts of staying away from dating were slowly evaporating away

"Am going to get something to eat, ...come with me"

he was asking her out ... Aria wanted to say no , she remembered Jamie's words she promised herself to say no , but here was a nice good looking guy asking her out. She was still scared but she did not want to over think things ...he was just asking her to eat and nothing more, plus she was hungry ..so she decided to go with him.

He led her to a small cafe outside the school and ordered some burgers, talking to Pete felt good , she had never talked to any other guy since the last incident ..but he made her feel comfortable..she soon relaxed and just enjoyed the meal.

They stayed there till dawn ...he offered to walk her to her room and she let him. She felt herself in the moment it was like listening to a song she once knew and listening to it again felt good.

"I guess that's it ...we are here"

he stood next the door of her room.

"yes we are here"

" ill see you around"

he said while smiling again.

"Ill see you around"

Aria said back.

there were a few seconds of silence before he told her goodnight and walked away.

Aria closed her eyes and breathed deeply ..was she over thinking things , maybe he did not like her in that way maybe he likes her like a friend , it doesn't matter he did not ask for her line in the end . Maybe he did not want to see her again but deeply she hoped to see him again.

she went inside , no one was around, she face timed Jamie and told her about her day. She told everything to her best friend.

they never kept any secrets from each other.

The following day was her first day of class Callie, Aria and Meredith all left there room for there classes they promised to meet up for lunch. Meredith had different classes from the two of them.

when they were done for the day ..they sat in the Cafe and chatted casually , Aria only had Jamie back at home but here she had two new friends , people from different parts of the world can just meet and became friends or lovers.

And in this city she found everything she hoped for , it welcomed her nicely she hoped to thrive here .

weeks went by, Aria never saw Pete again , she went to the place they met he was never there, did she just imagine him?, there was no sign of him anywhere , she would visit the cafe often in the hopes of seeing him, he was nowhere around. Maybe he forgot about her she felt stupid for wanting to see him again, was she the only one that felt a connection between the two , maybe .

she decided to stop looking for him why the hell look for a guy that doesn't want to be found. She wanted to just focus on her studies, it was better this way.

"ill hang out in the library" she said to Meredith, it was a Friday and the classes where over , Callie was out of town to visit her family, Aria learned that she had a beautiful 5 year old daughter,every Friday she would go back and come back on Sunday in the evening .

"all you do is study why don't you come with me ...ill be meeting some friends at this really cool club ..you will like it"

Meredith tried to convince her friend who was always glued to her books.

"hhmmh...maybe tomorrow ...i promise"

they talked while walking down the stairs. saying goodbye to each other when a car stopped near the entrance of the building.

Pete got out of the car looking perfect in a leather jacket a white shirt, black jeans and black boots , he looked like a rock star about to do a performance of a lifetime.

his eyes fell on Aria, he was looking at her with fire in his eyes, she swallowed deeply at his sight, he appeared out of no where again. If Aria had not met him before she would have thought he was just a figment of her imagination.

"you ...what are you doing here "

Meredith asked and Aria turned her attention on her , she wondered if the two of them knew each other.

"I am here for her ..."

he said pointing his finger at Aria. She blinked twice and looked at him.

Meredith also looked at Aria and asked "do you know each other"

"yes we meet some weeks ago ...once"

Aria also had a lot of questions about what was happening.

"don't worry little sister ...am not here to cause trouble"

sister ,?? Pete and Meredith were siblings ?

she thought , when she looked closely at the two them she finally noticed the similarities they had the same eyes and the same hair colour .

Meredith did not say anything else to him, she knew her brother very well and if he decided to pursue a girl there was nothing that could stop him, she looked at Aria and said.

"don't let him get you into trouble".she walked to her car and left the two of the standing.

Aria did not know what to say , she thought she would never see him again he practically ghosted her and she felt bad about that.

"you?" She said

"me" Pete raised his eyebrows and smiled at her

"huuh" he was confusing her

"what?"

he said again .

She did not say anything else , she just kept quiet looking at him.

Pete noticed her silence , all these days he had been longing to see her , he knew there was something different about her , he liked her.

"what have you been up to"

he walked closer to her and stood just inches away from her.

"ummh studies" she stepped back creating some space between them.

"i was out of town for some family business"

he explained even though she did not ask him,

" i came to find you the minute i got back ...i never got your line ...if i did ..you wouldn't have missed me so much"

he teased.

Aria felt embarrassed by his words , did she miss him, she did not know ...she only met him once but she did miss his company .

"Going somewhere" he asked her.

"the library" showing him the books in her hands. Pete asked if he could go with her and she agreed ... the library was all the way at the end of the campus in the large building it was far from the place they lived in .

so he drove them there. And walked her to the wooden doors, " coming in?" she asked him he nodded yes, they both walked in.

Aria sat on the chair and placed her books on the table , Pete grabbed a random book and sat across her.

She opened her book and started reading. she noticed Pete was looking at her instead of focusing on his book.

"focus" she said without looking at him .

He did not , she raised her head and looked at him, how could she focus with those blue eyes locked on her like that.

she puffed her cheeks and glared at him, in return he laughed at her actions .

there where other people in the library who looked at the both of them. Aria noticed there annoyed faces "shhhhh"

she held her finger on her lips gesturing Pete to keep quiet.

He placed both his hands on the table and watched her like she was a TV. "Pete!!!"

He laughed again if this continued she would surely get banned from the library Pete was mischievous.

"come with me"

he told her , "to where" ..she asked "somewhere" he did not give any details, Aria thought about his offer ...if she should agree or not. The idea of studying was thrown out the window the moment this man appeared in front of her.

He grabbed her books before she could touch them and walked out .without waiting for her response . Now she had no choice but to follow him.

She tried following him but he increased his pace walking even faster. She tried to increase her pace too to catch up but he walked faster ,till he started running in the long hallway ,

Aria did not understand him at all ,did he like playing games like this , she smiled and run after him trying to catch up , he was faster than her she couldn't keep up.

soon they reached his car and she was breathing hard trying to catch some air back in her lungs . He just looked at her like he did not run at all , what was with this man.

"why do you look like you just run a marathon"

he laughed at her ,

"i .....i ...just did.." she responded while breathing heavily.

He opened the car door for her and she got it , he sat in the driver seat and soon they were out of the school.
