Chapter 14

1420 Words
Saturday June 7 BLUE POV ‘Blue, my precious gift from Luna. I’m sure you have a million questions right now, and I’m sorry I’m not there to answer them for you. Please understand that everything up until this moment now, was to protect you. I can’t say much in this letter. If it fell into the wrong hands, you would be in incredible danger. The gift given to you is very special. It was given to you by your father, and holds great power. Learn about your gift. Follow the path you have to take. Goddess Luna chose your fate. Stay strong my beautiful daughter, I know you’ll figure it out. All my love forever. Mum’ I must have read and reread the letter at least 35 times before I finally looked up and thought, ‘what the actual fu*k’? In less than 48 hours, I had gone from being a boring, bullied, inexperienced loser. To being fated mates with twin alphas, spending personal time with both of them, be told that I’m not good enough to be their mate. Then they gave me a house. My room looks like an upscale store in a shopping mall, and I just got a cryptic letter and gift from my mum who I thought had died before my aunt brought me to safety. This week is turning out to be a week of ‘what the fu*k’s’. I needed some time to think. I ran upstairs. I grabed my school bag, and put the art supplies from my aunt in it, along with my mother's letter and the box for the necklace. I packed some essentials and some of the new clothes and make-up the alphas got me, and pulled on some leggings and a loose-fitting burgundy sweater. I put on a new pair of trainers and grabbed the new phone from the twins. I headed back downstairs to see my aunt sitting at the kitchen table. “It’s a lot to take in, isn’t it?” She smiled softly. I nodded. “You need some space to try and process it all right?” I nodded again. Before she could offer to leave, I interrupted. “I have somewhere to go. Don’t worry, it's safe and I will call when I get there, OK? I may need a few days.” She smiled warmly and pulled me in for a hug. “Be safe, and know I’m always here when you need me. If you have any questions, I’m only a call away.” I pulled away from the hug, yet another tear leaving my eye, and she kissed my forehead. I picked up my bag and set off out of the cottage. Instead of turning left to go towards school and the town, I turned right, towards the beach. AUNT FLORA POV I knew today was going to be difficult. She was still so young. To have this pressure put upon her shoulders is something I wish I didn’t have to do. But destiny is just that. You can't run from it. If you do, it will break you for eternity, just like running from fate and rejecting a mate. Once you choose to walk away, there's no going back. But my Blue was special, she was strong and determined, even if she didn’t know it yet. I hadn’t expected the extra pressure of her finding her mates on the day of her birthday either. Oh, you thought I didn’t know? Oh, I saw dumb and dumber arrive first thing this morning, failing to be sneaky with their piles of gifts. I wonder why she hadn’t told me herself though? Maybe she was overwhelmed by the moonstone, and hearing that her mother and father left it after a lifetime of thinking a completely different scenario? Either way, I hoped those two knuckleheads didn’t distract her from what she needed to do. Fate had already paved a path for my beautiful niece, and she needed to follow it. Any distractions or meddling could be catastrophic and deadly for everyone. I’m sure she would call with a list of questions soon enough. It’s time she finally found out who she is and where she came from. CREW POV I wonder if she got the gifts OK? Maybe we went a bit overboard, maybe we overwhelmed her? I hoped she wasn’t and that she was happy with the gifts. Being the stealth ninja’s which we are, we managed to deliver the presents and get away without being spotted. My wolf whines at me happily and agrees, we did good. I may take a walk down to the old beach house later and make sure it’s all clean and tidy incase she decides to head down there at any point. I didn’t tell Cole about the house. It was ours, and we could do what we wanted with it, and I’m sure he would want Blue to have it after seeing the cottage, but I had a feeling the more we did, the more secrets he would have to hide from dad, and Cole couldn’t lie to dad. He was the eldest, the ‘true’ heir to the throne. True, we both became alpha, but the eldest is always top dog, and dad certainly treated him like that. I was totally against dad's plan when he had announced it to us over a year ago, but Cole wanted to please him, and said that as alphas, it was our duty to do what was best for the pack, and we had no choice. Well, he made the decision for us, so I really had no choice. I could step down, and walk away, but that would waiver the deal and the contract, and the whole plan would fall apart. Not to mention me and Cole were twins. We may not always see eye to eye, but our bond is unparalleled. We could mind link from the womb, we finish each others sentences, we know when one of us is in trouble, and we know when to back each other up. I could never walk away from him. Nothing could ever come between us. Or so I thought, until I met Blue. From the moment I took in her scent, I knew we were no longer a duo. We were a trio. I wanted to share every moment that I did with my twin, with her too. She felt like she had been a part of me always, and feeling her pain after we said she couldn’t be luna, literally caused agonising pain throughout my entire body. But if we can keep her as happy as can be, maybe somehow, some way, we could figure something out. BLUE POV I had switched on my new phone and was using the fancy GPS map app to find the house. It said it was a 15 mile walk from my cottage to the new house, and as it was such a beautiful day, I wasn’t in a rush, and I had a lot to think about. I decided it probably best to stroll along at a leisurely pace, rather than shift and run there as a wolf. It was early evening before I finally made it, and I couldn’t have timed it any better. The view was breathtaking. The house itself was very modern. Treated timber on the sides with a black acutely angled roof that pointed out in two directions to the front of the property. The whole front of the house was made of glass. The upper floor had a balcony that ran the full length of the property, and the windows were the type where you could see out but no one could see in. There was a small pool and fire pit out front, and a beautiful wrap-around garden with a bench swing, hot tub, bar and outdoor entertainment area. But the best part about it, was that it was on a small hill above the beach, with the sea no more than 30 meters away. It was heavenly. I entered the house and went straight upstairs. The 2 master suites shared the balcony and took up the whole front section of the house. I headed straight for the balcony. I pulled up a chair and sat there until the sun had completely vanished behind the horizon. I chose the master bedroom that I could smell belonged to Crew. I curled up into a ball, holding his jacket, and sleep took me.
