I wake up in a dimly lit room, lying on a bed that feels far too comfortable. My neck rests on a soft pillow that carries a scent I know too well. My eyes are open, but everything is still blurry. Where the hell are my glasses? I try to sit up, but my body protests with dull aches everywhere. My skin feels raw, like it’s been scrubbed with sandpaper. I shake my head to clear the fog and immediately regret it as a sharp headache blooms behind my eyes. Sweet baby Jesus, what happened to me?
