Chapter 14: Ezra
Hailey shows up in class the next day around ten. Her cheeks are all puffed up but that scowl is still there making her look too much like Miss. Puff. I'm sitting at the same spot we first met two weeks ago.
“Did you finally achieve your life long dream of getting laid by that loser?” I ask as she unzips her bag, plopping herself beside me.
“Not yet dummy. He pecked me then drove me home." She turns to face me, arching a brow. "I guess I'm the only one taking this whole thing seriously."
"I've been working too but it's hard when the person being targeted is as fake as the joker. Anyway, that's a score for you H. We've gotten through the first hurdle but it's clearly not enough."
