Chapter 3 Cheating Whore

901 Words
I forced myself to pull it together as quickly as possible. The year my parents passed away, Lena and Marcus had been there for me. From that moment on, I treated them as the most important people in my life. My house was filled with their things—Lena and Marcus had spent countless days with me, even staying over on my parents' death anniversaries to keep me company. But now, looking around, everything felt like a cruel joke. How had I never noticed before? Lena had left lingerie at my place—not just any lingerie, but lace-trimmed, revealing pieces meant to seduce. And Marcus' mug? It matched Lena's perfectly—a couples' set. The evidence had been there all along, mocking me. I packed up every last trace of them, and when the garbage truck pulled up, I threw it all out without a second thought. When I arrived at school, something hit me square on the head. An egg. "I turned around, stunned, only to find a group of Lena's usual entourage sneering at me. "How dare you, you filthy w***e?" Fiona sneered. "Cheating on Marcus and still showing your face here?"" Her words hit me like a slap. "What did you just say?" Fiona scoffed, "Check the school forum. There's a video of you and your side piece at the bar. It's all over the internet. I have no idea how you still have the nerve to show up here." Heart pounding, I rushed to my classroom, grabbed my phone, and opened the forum. Sure enough, an anonymous account had posted a video of me from the other night at the bar. I didn't even need to think twice. I knew who was behind it. The moment Marcus and Lena strolled into class, hand in hand, my fists clenched so tightly my nails dug into my palms. Those two backstabbing bastards. Lena shot me a smug look but quickly put on a pitiful, hesitant expression when facing the rest of the class. "Guys, don't be too hard on Maria..." she said in a delicate, broken voice. "I'm sure she has her reasons. I do love Marcus, but I would never take advantage of the situation. Marcus and Maria have been together for so long... Please, let's not be too harsh on her." Her performance was flawless. And just like that, the whispers started. "Wow, I never knew Maria was such a snake." "She looks so innocent, but she's actually shameless. She should change her name—it doesn't suit her." "Honestly, Lena and Marcus make a better couple anyway. They should just be together." The second someone said that, Lena blushed, playing right into the act. I reached my limit and decided to stand up for myself. When I confronted them yesterday, I made sure to discreetly record them—just in case. Pulling out my phone, I stormed up to Lena. "So what now, Lena? Sleeping with Marcus is just another way to comfort him?" My voice was icy. "Tell me, between the two of us, who's the real piece of trash? And don't act clueless—you both know damn well why I was at that bar in the first place." Before I could hit play on the recording I had taken last night, Marcus lunged forward. In one swift move, he snatched my phone, deleted the video, and threw it to the ground. He turned to the class, feigning heartbreak. "Maria, after everything you've done, you still want to spread fake videos to frame me and Lena? How low can you go?" That was my line. And yet, somehow, I was the one being dragged through the mud. I shook with rage. "How dare you?!" Marcus smirked, his tone mocking. "You wanted to break off the engagement, right? I never understood why, but now I do. You had someone else. Fine. Perfect. Then let's make it official—our engagement is off. And on the day we were supposed to get married, I'll be marrying Lena instead. Maria, we're done." It was all a perfectly staged play. Now, I understood why he hadn't agreed to break off the engagement last night. He had been waiting for this moment—to ruin me completely. To destroy my reputation, my school life, and my entire future. I had never seen someone so shameless. As Lena passed me, she leaned in close and whispered, "Get the hell out of here, you dirty whore." Something inside me snapped. Without thinking, I raised my hand and slapped her across the face. There was no turning back now. If they wanted me to be the villain, I'd be the worst one they'd ever seen. I tackled Lena to the ground, fists flying as the classroom erupted into screams. No one had expected the quiet, sweet Maria to be this fierce. By the end of the day, the school had issued my punishment. I was suspended. Exactly what I wanted. I would no longer be trapped in their twisted game. Now, it was my turn. I would make Marcus and Lena suffer a hundred times worse than what they had done to me. And this time, I wouldn't hold back. I glanced down at my phone, at the contact I had saved the other night. I hadn't planned on using it before. But now? Now, I had made up my mind.
