“I’m going to leave you down here for a little while so you can think about obedience. Those potatoes were really awful tonight. If you don’t want to spend every night down here after dinner, I suggest you learn to follow the directions a little better. I let you off easy tonight, but I won’t in the future. Do you understand?”
Maureen’s face cringed. Her lips moved and a sound came out, but it was unintelligible. Lucy decided she would let it pass.
