Chapter 8
~ARIA~
I was running as fast as I could, trying to save myself from whatever was chasing me. Wolves? Not just any wolves... Rogues. They were the enemies of our pack, the kind that didn’t care who they hurt. If they caught me, I was dead. I could hear their paws pounding the ground behind me, getting closer with every step.
"What would they do to me if they caught me?" I didn’t want to think about it. I’d heard stories, and they were all bad. They’d do worse than what Collins tried to do to me, and that thought alone made me push harder, even though my legs were already burning.
Then, the rain started coming down, hard and fast. It was like the sky opened up, and before I knew it, I was soaked. Thunder crashed, and lightning lit up the sky for just a second, but it wasn’t enough to help me see where I was going. Everything was blurry, and I could barely keep my eyes open with the rain hitting my face.
"I’m just an Omega," I thought, panic rising in my chest. How could I fight off rogue wolves? They were stronger, faster, and meaner than me. There was no way I could stand a chance. All I could do was run and hope for the best.
The rogues were catching up, I could feel it. Their growls were getting louder, and my heart was racing. I looked back to see if they were close, but that was a mistake. I didn’t see the stone in front of me. My foot caught on it, and before I knew it, I was falling.
I hit the ground hard, my head slamming against the stone. Pain shot through me, and everything around me started to spin. The rain kept pouring down, soaking me to the bone, but I couldn’t move. I couldn’t even get up. My vision was blurry, and the world was spinning.
"Get up, Aria." I tried to tell myself, but my body wouldn’t listen. I was too weak, too tired. The rogues were right behind me, and I had no strength left to keep going.
The last thing I saw before everything went black was a pair of glowing eyes staring down at me. The rogues had found me, and I knew I was done for. Then, everything went dark, and I slipped into unconsciousness.
When I woke up, everything was different. I wasn’t in the forest anymore. I blinked a few times, trying to get my bearings. My body ached, but that wasn’t the worst part. When I tried to move, I realized my hands were chained. That’s when it hit me... the rogues had caught me.
Fear rose in my chest. I was trapped, helpless, and there was no way out. How could I be so unlucky? It felt like I was jumping from one problem to another. First, I was rejected by my pack, and now this. Frustration and fear twisted inside me, but there was nothing I could do.
I turned around slowly, and that’s when I saw him... a man standing a few feet away, smirking at me like he was amused by my situation. My stomach turned. He didn’t have to say anything for me to know I was in deep trouble.
“So, what are we going to do with you?” he asked, his voice dripping with menace.
Fear gripped me, and I begged, “Please, I’m just trying to escape from the Moonshadow Pack. I don’t mean any harm.”
He raised an eyebrow, clearly interested in what I said. “Escape? Why would you want to run away from your pack?”
I hesitated, not sure how much I should reveal, but I didn’t have much choice. “I’m just an Omega,” I said, my voice shaking. “I’ve been treated unfairly my whole life. I don’t belong there. I needed to get far away, where no one knows me.”
He stared at me for a moment, the smirk never leaving his face. I didn’t know if he believed me or if he was just playing some sick game. Either way, I felt trapped, more than I ever had before.
“You think running will solve your problems?” he asked, mocking me. “You’re in rogue territory now. Whatever happens to you here, no one will come looking.”
I swallowed hard, realizing just how hopeless my situation was. "Please, don't hurt me, I'll go far away, I'll run away." I said.
The rogue didn’t care about anything I said. He just laughed, a cruel sound that sent chills down my spine. “That’s not my business,” he sneered. “You’re a fool if you think running away is going to solve anything. You don’t know how things work out here.”
He stepped closer, his eyes narrowing as he continued, “The rogues have their territory, and you’re in it now. No one goes easy on outsiders, especially not someone from the Moonshadow Pack.” He spat the name out like it was poison. “Your pack and my kind are enemies, and you’re going to pay for that. You should’ve stayed where you were.”
My heart pounded in my chest as I tried to think of something, anything, to say. But nothing came. Before I knew it, his hands were on me, tearing at my clothes. I was terrified seeing my top been ripped away, leaving me in nothing but my innerwear. I struggled, trying to push him off, but he was too strong. I could see it in his eyes... he had no intention of stopping.
Just as I braced myself for the worst, the door flew open with a loud crash. I froze, my breath caught in my throat. A man stormed into the room. He was tall, muscular, and covered in tattoos that crawled up his arms and across his chest. His long blonde hair fell over his shoulders, and his eyes burned with anger.
“I told you not to touch this one,” he yelled, his voice booming through the room.
The rogue who had been on me immediately backed off and face the blonde haired rogue. The man with the tattoos moved toward us, his gaze fixed on the rogue who had been ready to harm me. I didn’t know who he was, but in that moment, he was my only hope... Or worst.
