“What do you mean by love?” I asked, staring at Lucien in confusion. My heart was pounding, but I didn’t understand. No one had ever said anything like that to me before.
“I’ve fallen for you, Aria,” he repeated, his voice steady, like it was the most natural thing in the world.
I blinked, feeling like I hadn’t heard him right. Love? This felt like some sort of joke. How could he possibly claim to love me after just a few weeks of me being here, a prisoner in his pack?
