“You can go as far as faking a report just to frame someone? Is that what I taught you? Wow, well done! And you, Flora you’re an adult, yet you don’t act like one,” Mr savage said angrily.
“Dad…” Flora tried to speak.
Smack!
“You still dare to speak, you useless daughter? Since you like playing games, every fund we invested in your husband’s company will be cut off starting today!”
“Dad!” Rosy called out.
“I said shut up both of you!” he shouted. “It seems your monthly allowance is too much. It’s getting cut to a quarter now.”
Flora, trying to speak sweetly, said, “Dad, please hear me out. I’m so sorry. If Johnson doesn’t receive the funding, his company will go bankrupt. Dad, I’m your daughter. No matter what I do, you should forgive.....”
Mr savage cut her off. “If you finish that sentence, you’re in deeper trouble! You’re a disgrace to this family. Didn’t you know? Or maybe you don’t. Let me ask you did your husband even come to check on you? Didn't he hear you had an accident? Look at your life, scheming, instead of fixing it!”
“Dad, you still have to forgive us,” both Rosy and Flora said at the same time.
“Shut up! Don’t make me cause a scene here in the hospital. I said shut up! Especially you, Rosy. Good for nothing! Always bringing trouble. Now look at Sage, that girl deserves all the power she wants. Despite her young age, she manages her father’s businesses.”
Mr savage continued mockingly, “But you, ‘Dad, I’m too young…’' mimicking Rosy’s voice.
“Dad, it’s not like I can’t also.....” Rosy tried to speak.
“I might break your head if you say one more word! You’re young, you can't work. But you choose to seduce a married man and offer bribes. Seems I’ve been giving you too much money! Like I said, none of you will receive a penny from me. Rosy, your pay is docked. And Flora, use the monthly allowance I gave you to support your husband. Husband, my foot!” Mr savage barked angrily.
“Got pregnant before marriage,a total disgrace. I’d have called you a bastard if I didn’t trust my late wife.”
Mr savage grabbed his briefcase and stormed out of the hospital ward.
“What do we do now?” Flora and Rosy asked simultaneously.
“Sis, I better follow him. If not, things will only get worse.”

The Next Morning
Flora arrived home.
“Hello? Is anyone home?” she called out. No response.
Flora dropped her bag on the sofa, she headed to the bedroom. Standing by the door, she heard voices coming from inside.
“Baby… I’m so happy you’re here…”
“Yes… it’s perfect…”
Flora burst through the door and found James, her husband, talking closely with another woman.
“What the f**k is going on?!” she screamed, rushing to drag the woman. “Who are you?! And why are you both in my matrimonial bed?!”
The woman looked at James. “Baby, who’s this dog barking?”
“Shut up! That’s my wife,” James muttered weakly.
“What the hell?! You didn’t tell me you had a wife! What’s wrong with you?! I’m out of here.”
The lady grabbed her clothes and stormed out. Flora turned to James, shaking.
“You cheated on me… on our bed… James?!”
“Baby, I’m sorry. It was the devil’s work. Please, I’m really sorry,” James said, dropping to his knees on the bed, hands clasped.
Flora, pointing at him with fury, shouted, “I was in the hospital for a whole week! You didn’t even come to check on me! And now I come home to this?!”
James stood up. He was only wearing boxers. “Baby, listen… calm down. Just sit down.”
“On the same bed you cheated on me with?!” she snapped.
“I said I’m sorry! Please forgive me. I swear it won’t happen again.”
Flora grabbed a wine glass from the bedside table and smashed it, CRASH!
“If you come near me again, I swear I’ll kill you and kill myself!”
“Baby, calm down! Let’s talk! Please put that down. I’m sorry… please…” James started crying.
Flora’s voice softened. “Okay. I won’t kill anyone. You know I hate seeing you cry.”
“Baby… it was the devil’s work. I swear it’ll never happen again. Trust me…”
“How do I trust you?!” Flora shouted.
James came close to Flora. “Baby, you’re shouting. Let’s pretend this didn’t happen. I will never do it again, trust me.”
“I’m not in a good mood right now. When my mood softens, I’ll speak to you. As a matter of fact, I’m going out.”
“Baby, are you sure you’re not angry?” James asked.
“I’m not. I just need to get myself together that’s why I’m going out.”
Flora stormed out of the room, took her bag from the sitting room sofa, and left.

Two Months Later
Finally, Sage finished high school and was on her way to visit her dad.
She looked stunning and beautiful in the red dress she wore. The cloth was shiny, her face pretty and attractive, almost as beautiful as the moon.
“Ma’am, we are already here,” the driver called to Sage.
“Oh really? I was so distracted with my phone.”
All the guards said, “Welcome, Miss.” A red carpet was laid out as a sign of respect.
Sage walked like a model on the carpet. She walked through to the doorstep.
The maids opened the door for her. “Welcome, Miss.”
Everyone respected her so much, and they were even surprised to see her, as she only stayed in the house built for her to make managing the company easier.
Two of the maids decorating the flowers were gossiping.
“Davia, despite our boss’s daughter being so young, she manages all her father’s businesses properly.”
“Woma, it’s my first time even seeing her here. She’s absolutely stunning.”
“Davia, not only that, her aura is just like her mother’s. You wouldn’t know, you just came. This year is when she graduated that’s why she’s home.”
“Oh really, Woma? That means she’s very young,” Davia asked.
“Yes, she’s just 18. I’ve never seen someone so talented in business. She’s small but mighty,” Woma answered.
Davia replied, “Really…”
A guard came to where Woma and Davia were.
“Um… um… um…” he cleared his throat. “So this is what you two are assigned to do, right?”
Davia and Woma quickly returned to work. “We’re sorry! We’ll get it done now.”

In the House
“Dad! Dad! Dad!” Sage called. “Maybe he’s in the room. Hello? Hello?”
She turned to a maid. “Go upstairs and tell Dad that I’m around.”
“Got it, ma’am,” the maid replied.

In the Room
“Umm… ummm… I’m tired, baby. Let’s stop. I can’t believe with your old age, you still have so much energy.”
“What do you think? Did you underestimate me?” Mr deluca held Madina close with a knowing smile.
“Stop, stop. I can’t continue. My back aches. You’ve worn me out."
The maid barged in and quickly knelt down. “I’m sorry, madam and sir.” Her head bowed. “I just want to inform you that......”
“Shut up!” Madina shouted. “You couldn’t knock? Is that how you were taught? Baby, what’s the meaning of this? She just barged in.”
“I’m sorry, Madina. She will surely be punished. Guards, punish her, give her fifty strokes of the cane.”
“Sir, I’m sorry. I’m very sorry. Sir, please, I’m sorry.”
The guard came and dragged the woman out. She was shouting, “I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!”
As the guard dragged her through the parlor, the woman rushed to Sage.
“Miss, please help me.” She held Sage’s hand.
Sage sat with her legs crossed.
