Prologue

Becca: I get off the plane in a daze. Just a few weeks ago I was in the car with my parents and brother driving home from our yearly summer vacation in Cape Cod. I will never forget that Sunday evening. The traffic was crazy and the drivers around us were frustrated that we weren't moving. Once we finally made it over the Sagamore Bridge it started to become dark. The further we drove towards Boston, the less traffic there was. We were all laughing about funny parts to our vacation when our of nowhere a semi truck drove over the median and slammed right into us. The last thing I remember is our car rolling multiple times and landing in a ditch. It was so silent and dark. My parents and brother were also silent. One minute I saw flashing lights and the next my eyes closed. I wake up to beeping and the smell of hospital. I am by myself. I press the call button and the nurse comes running in with the doctor. I had a bandage on my head and my leg in a cast. They checked my vitals and I kept asking where my family were. The doctor told me I was the only survivor. I became hysterical and they quickly sedated me to calm me down. I then closed my eyes and everything went black
